Saint Catherine of Siena by Mary Fabyan Windeatt is a story a great saint. When Catherine was born in Siena, Italy 1347. Catherine lived a very holy life. She had 25 brothers and sisters, although most died as a young child. Saint Catherine was very holy, obedient, and different in a good way. She was amazing!

Saint Catherine had a strong and powerful love for God

One day saint Catherine’s love was stronger than ever, she cut her hair so no boy would want to marry her, so she could become a nun. Catherine's love for Jesus was noticed. One evening, when the happy little saint was six years old, she had her first vision of Our Lord. Finally she came too, and looking again up to heaven, she wept bitterly upon seeing that the vision had vanished. Another example of Catherine's love for God is she tried to attempt to be a hermit by running away although it was not Gods will for her, Catherine later returned home although her parents asked many questions she answered them all humbly like the little saint she was. Gods love had filled through Saint Catherine, when Catherine’s mother was informed of Catherine’s attempt her mother disciplined Catherine, including placing all the chores on Catherine's shoulders instead of the maids. I think her mother gave her the cores so she couldn't pray as much any more. Catherine went on praying as often as she could any ways.
