Sally Scull was the scariest siren in Texas. She was born in Pennsylvania in 1817. Sally’s full given name was Sarah Jane Newman Robinson Scull Doyle Wadkins Hordsdorff. Her given name could be the longest name in the universe. She was the only daughter of William Rabb.
When Sally was six, she moved with her extended family out to near the Colorado river. Her father died, when Sally was eighteen. She was married for the first time two years earlier at the age of sixteen.
After most of Sally’s family passed, she lived alone and went psychotic. Sally had a job bringing cotton to Mexico, to swap for guns, medicine, gold, and more. Sally was married 5 different times. They were married two weeks after her divorce with Jesse. By the end of the decade, they were no longer a couple. Sally had killed him. She considered herself a single women.
In 1850, she was living in Dewitt County. Where she lived having a business and finding her third husband, John Cook. As she traveled with him, she held a reputation most women did not have, to not be tangled with. Not long until she was seen shooting a man, she says in self defense.
Sally’s fourth husband remains unnamed, but was known to be killed by a pistol shot to the chest. He was not sure why Sally wasn’t waking up one morning after partying so he threw cold water on her. She awoke, pulled out a pistol and killed him.
She stated, “I wouldn't have done that if I knew it was him.” Yeah right, Sally was like an intimidating 8th grader, coming to kill you.
Sally’s fifth and last husband, was Christoph Hordsdorff. He didn’t have a long marriage with Sally at all. They rode horses out to the outskirts of Texas, and he came back alone, he moved up north and remarried, and had a family of his
