If the Salton Sea starts to severely dry up then we are going to be exposed to more harmful chemicals that get into our lungs when we breath. California is also in a drought which is also not helping this situation and is only making it worse. This is important to know about because when we breathe, this dust goes inside our lungs. The smaller the particles are, the deeper that they will go into our bodies and could hurt us. Our bodies cannot handle those small particles and they can cause our lungs to swell and close up, which leads to death.
