...The novel The Same Kind Of Different As Me written by Lynn Vincent and Denver Moore makes the concept of not judging a book by its cover perceptible throughout this novel. In this novel a man and woman named Ron and Debbie Hall have their lives refined forever when they meet an older man named Denver at a homeless shelter. Throughout the novel Denver and the Halls share their life story with one another. Even with the dramatic differentiations between the Halls and Denver consisting of class, culture and environment the characters all come to realize how alike they truly are. There are many social issues that emerge within the novel not only with the individual characters themselves, but also with all of the characters and families as a whole. Looking at the characters individually, they each struggle with their own issues. For example, Ron Hall ends up becoming successful within his career, but tends to become very materialistic and...

...Getting Back to the Me I Use to Be Before reading Same Kind of Different as Me, by Ron Hall, Denver Moore, and Lynn Vincent (2006), I thought I fully understood how I have gotten to where I am today, but I was wrong. I had a good childhood and, as a young adult, a bad marriage. Now I am married to the man God had for me. My bad marriage was just something I wanted to put behind me. I have now learned that it is what helped me to grow in knowledge and insight when it comes to abusive relationships. I realize now that my childhood and my current marriage have also played important parts in getting me back to where I needed to be in order to help others through social work. Unlike Ron Hall, who came from a lower-middle class family and Denver Moore, who was raised a dirt poor sharecropper, I had a very good childhood. I was raised in a middle class Christian home where love and caring were practiced every day. My three brothers, three sisters, and I were taught that every person on this earth is a...

...So they can be observed and the results can be analyzed. Can the data be analyzed? Yes the data can be analyzed through content analysis of different kinds of music and music lyrics. Can the results of the study be generalized? Yes the results can be generalized because teenagers get expose do different kinds of music with different lyrics and I am not only examining one kind of music. I’m researching the effect of all kinds of music lyrics on youth. What time is involved in the analysis? The time does not really play an important role in this research since we are not focusing on a specific musical era; but the questions we mainly about contemporary song lyrics. Is the planned approach appropriate to the project? Yes, I believe that the questionnaire was the most helpful tool to analyze the effect of music lyrics. The content analysis also made me compare the answers of the people and it helped me discover how music lyrics affect each person differently. Is there is any potential harm to the subjects? No, there is no harm to the subjects. Part 2: Write a paragraph about your problem’s significance: With the recent technological advancement, youth are now being exposed to all kinds of music. Music lyrics was the means to convey such differences. My aim in this project is to...

...Newman Jr. Prof. Grix Art Appreciation 4/23/11 Analysis of Dylan James Art “Nomadic” They say art is the way the artist perceives how the world is or its issues and that we are to understand it as they want us to. In most cases that’s true but sometimes, in some art it puts you in your own little dream world. That work of art makes you forget all that’s going around you and you immerse yourself into the art, or should I say dreamland. To me when I really like a work of art I have to connect to it, I must feel the connection they are trying to make but also create my own. Once the art pulls me in that’s when it becomes my dreamland and brings about a certain peace that only art can do. This analysis will discuss the different mediums, purpose and personal perception on what makes it my dreamland. The first thing you recognize in a painting is the medium. This piece was a little tricky because it seemed to be a mixture of water color and impasto. Since that is never or rarely done I’ve come to the conclusion its kind of a lite impasto. The work of art was done it looks like on paper but its not the paper that brings this work out, it’s the use of the oil paint. Dylan James made this piece, “Nomadic” by drawing a family of three with an unusual but simply brilliant impasto technique. He draws the borders of the figures thick so you would know that they are figures and how they look but shades in the bodies kind of lightly and puts the family in a hierarchic scale...

...present one side of the argument or another. That is not the point. Many scholarly sources for example, are likely to provide you with arguments that you will use for both sides of your controversy. While you don’t have to worry about choosing the same number of “for” articles and “against” articles, it is important to make sure you have a balanced number of arguments for each side of your debate. Finally, you also don’t need to separate your popular and scholarly sources as they are likely to examine similar issues. You don’t want to be repetitive when describing various arguments, so think about a way of effectively organizing the arguments you will presenting. Your paper is essentially going to be divided in two parts. The first part will be about describing the arguments on either side of the debate. I call this the descriptive component of your paper. The second part of your paper is the analysis. You will be analyzing two things. First, I want you to compare and contrast how your topic is presented in scholarly versus popular media. Think of areas like language (simple versus complex), use of references, and length of article as a starting point for your analysis. Make sure to use examples in your analysis. For instance, if you tell me that scholarly sources are harder to understand than popular ones because of language, provide an example of this from your own sources. The other thing I want you to analyze is how your topic relates to any one or two of our course themes and/or...

...learned a lot through out the semester. I learned how to write different kinds of papers, how to do research on a topic, and how to manage my time to where I can efficiently do my work by the due date. At the beginning of the year we had to write a literary analysis and in that analysis I said that me, and writing never really had a strong relationship and I was not exactly a fan of writing. Months later and I still feel the same way… I may not enjoy it but I know I have grown stronger in the writing department because of this class. My teacher being very involved with our work helped tremendously. It was so helpful to receive our drafts back with comments on how to make our papers better. It most definitely improved my writing. When we would free write in class I felt challenged, because it is hard for me to just think on the spot, but the more we free wrote the better I got it. I also enjoyed when we got to present our issues that our issue analysis was over to the class. It was interesting to hear all the research people did and what they focused their paper on. Getting chocolate cake wasn’t so bad either. I will admit that I was very nervous when it came to me presenting my issue. Being in front of people is one of my flaws that get in the way of assignments like that. The books that were required for the class really helped, especially the FY book. The step-by-step instructions that the book gave helped me get through every one of my papers. It was also pretty cool meeting...

It is described as integrative because it has elements of psychoanalytic, humanist and cognitive approaches. TA was developed by Canadian-born US psychiatrist, Eric Berne, during the late 1950s. According to the International Transactional Analysis Association,[1] TA 'is a theory of personality and a systematic psychotherapy for personal growth and personal change'. 1. As a theory of personality, TA describes how people are structured psychologically. It uses what is perhaps its best known model, the ego-state (Parent-Adult-Child) model, to do this. The same model helps explain how people function and express their personality in their behavior[1] 2. It is a theory of communication that can be extended to the analysis of systems and organisations.[1] 3. It offers a theory for child development...

...with a same direction. In this class I learn a lot of things that I can apply in the engineering field. As it was passing the semester I understand things that when I came into this class, there were not clarified at all. In the project we were assign to do as the semester was passing I learned a lot of things helpful in the field of engineering. My team members and I at the beginning, we were confuse of what to present in our project. We change the topic like two times. But finally as a team we decide to do the project in the fabrication of Ecological Tires, which are better for the environment and reduce pollution. In the project I learned how to make the Conceptual Design, Preliminary Design and Detailed Design of a project. To make the Conceptual, Preliminary and Detailed Design, I learned how to do Need Statements, SE Process Diagrams, Tradeoff Studies, Operational Requirements, Design Requirements, Functional Diagrams Serial, Logical Diagrams, ICOM Diagrams, Risk Analysis, Migration Plans, System Reliability, System Integrations, etc… To make the project first of all, we make the Need Statement. They can be different Needs Statements, like Customer Need Statement and the Company Need Statement. In the Company Need Statement we describe why we decide to make the Ecological Tires, the problem of the existent tires, and the benefits of the new tires. In the other hand, the Customer Need Statement for the New Ecological Tires they are basically the same on the existent...

...Muslim Chinese. Han and Hui have different living customs. For example, Hui are forbidden to eat pork while pork is the most common meat consumed by Han. In my high school, there were two dinning rooms: a big one for Han students, and the other small one for Hui students. I had dinner with my friend-Qian, who was Hui, but stayed with me in Han Chinese dinning room on that day. I enjoyed my pork dish, and wanted to share it with her but she refused. Qian explained, “I am Hui people, we do not eat pork.” I did not give up and said, “Come on, I have known you for ages, we are the same, we are all Chinese people. I can not see any differences.” My friend began to keep silent, and I kept persuading her, “just try one slice of the pork, they are really delicious”. However, my friend frowned and said “I can not eat it. The smell of the pork makes me sick”. After hearing her words, I stopped persuading her to eat pork because I did not want to make her uncomfortable. Then we began to talk other topics. I was unaware that what I committed was a microaggression at that time. Microaggressions are verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional happening in daily life, conveying communicating hostile, derogatory, or negative racial slights and insults toward people of color (Sue et al., 2007). In this case, I did not see ethnic differences and persuaded my friend to have same food with me, communicating the subtle derogative...

...stable, conscientiousness, sympathetic, warm, and openness or open to new experiences, but yet complex. Yet still there are other personality traits that can help define why I see myself also as an empathetic and compassionate individual who can express such empathy and compassion to other individuals without personal gain or reward. 3. What key concepts or “constructs” are used to explain your personality? I believe one of many key constructs that I would use to explain my personality, is that I’m an observer. I’m constantly observing the environment around me. I feel like I need to know what’s going on around me. I may be in a situations where I might need to assure I’m protected. I observe to see if I’m in a situation or place where I can just relax and let lose. I observe to get a vibe or a feel for where I am so that maybe I can fit in or just walk away. Along with observing my environment around me, I also observe people. I like to say that I have a good judgement of people’s character....

...Individual Personality Report It is very important for an individual person to perceive who actually he is, what kind of characteristics he has and what kind of jobs and business would maximize his efficiency in the future. Before starting to discover my personality, let`s see what the personality really is. In a lot of ways, everyone has something in common, we are all the same in some way as human beings. However, in some ways we are all different and unique. No two people can be exactly the same as each other, they all have different backgrounds, experience, mind and outlook. Even identical twins are not identical because of differences in their personalities. We can define personality as the range different styles of thinking, acting and feeling. For example, some people are very talkative and outgoing, on the other hand some people are very quiet and shy. That is because of the differences in personalities. Thus, knowing your type of personality is very precious in terms of understanding yourself and creating your future plans and expectations according to your character. I have always wanted to discover my deep characteristics for a long time that is why this assignment was a good beginning for me. After doing several personality tests, I reached some very interesting conclusions and it changed my view for the future. After completing my first test, 16Personalities, it was figured out that I was a “Campaigner” person with ENFP specialties. This type of personality...

I have same feeling to his opinion as there are many kinds of circumstances to be met in people’s annual life and have different self-determination, choice and the power to decide response to stimulus, conditions and circumstances. ...Running head: A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF OPEN THEISM An Analysis of the Open Theist Views Donell Winder Baptist Bible College Authors Note This paper was prepared for Survey of Doctrine TH517, taught by Professor David Mappes. A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF OPEN THEISM Abstract God is all knowing, unchanging, and all powerful. These are beliefs that are taught in the doctrine of God. These are beliefs that Christians live by and pass on to their friends and families. The Open Theist have come to challenge those beliefs. They argue God literally changes his mind, continues to learn, and is even said to take risks, (Sanders, 1998). The Open Theists are trying to challenge the Doctrine of God. This paper will dispute these beliefs and use evidence of scripture to prove that these arguments are invalid. Revelations 22:18-19 states,” 18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of...
