Nowadays, whenerver we hear the word ghost we feel fear which comes from our movies. The movie we watched “Ugetsu”, they didn’t apply fear. It’s totally different from the movies they make today. The movie was slow and it was not only about ghosts but also lack of humanities’ satisfaction. In this story, we haven’t only seen one ghost but two. The first one took a big part of the story while the other comes out as an unexpected revelation.

Our story starts with the two men who cared more about what they wanted to be other than being with their families. These two men are Genjuro and Tobei. Tobei cared more about being a samurai. There were rules before being a samurai whom Tobei didn’t met. Even though, he didn’t want to give up his dream which paid him giving up his wife.

Genjuro cared more about making money with the pots that he makes with the help of his wife. Since there was a war going on at that time, he and Tobei wanted to take an advantage of that and make more money. They decided to go out of town and start selling. While traveling on the boat, they met a guy who warns them about pirates. Genjuro then decided to go back to drop his wife and son and take road back to the city. Genjuro’s vision was right. He was making good money when he got to the city and that’s when he met Lady
