1. How would creating a new position between the CEO and the location managers help the business to grow?
Creating a new position between the CEO and location managers, this would give Dalman the time needed to be able to research opportunities in expanding Sandwich Blitz, Inc. No matter if he decided to franchise out or open more company-owned shops, Dalman would need the time to assist in opening the new locations. Creating a Regional Manager position would be an excellent idea.
2. Is promoting an existing manager the best option to fill this position? If not, what is an alternative source to fill the position?
An existing manager has the experience with Sandwich Blitz, Inc. and would have the knowledge needed to run more than one store location. Hiring someone without Sandwich Blitz, Inc. experience would mean extra time being spent in order to train the new employee. Promoting within the company is better in terms of time …show more content…
Who within the company should make these decisions?
Since Dalman and Lei are partners, it is fair to say they should both make the decision together. The accountant would only be involved in order to know what is occurring in the company.
4. List the levels of authority (management) that Sandwich Blitz, Inc. would have if the new position is created.
The top level of authority consists of Dalman, CEO, and Lei, CFO. Next, would be the accountant, CPA. If the new position is created, that person would be the Regional Manager. He or she would then be over all eight locations, unless two Managers were promoted. In that case, each Regional Manager would be over four locations. Under the Regional Manager would be the individual store manager, General Manager. With eight locations, that means eight General Managers. Each store also has a team leader, normally known as Assistant Managers. The employees may not have a manager position, but they are all very important and are given the authority to do what makes the customer
