Sarah Minnie Catlin

Sarah Minnie Catlin was born, November 16, 1826, at Welwyn, Hertsford, England to the parents of William Catlin and Sarah Minnie Bigg.

Sarah Minnie Catlin met Henry Augustus Squires and they were married, April 27, 1846, in Welwyn, Hertsford, England. They had a large family of twelve children.

When Sarah Minnie married Henry, she became the wife of a Baptist Minister. In 1847 she met with the missionaries of the Mormon Church and was baptized August 22, 1847. Six days later, Henry followed.

In the spring of 1856, the Henry, Sarah and their five daughters traveled to Liverpool, England to join the Saints who were immigrating to Zion. They set sail on the ship “Horizon” bound for America on May 25, 1856 and arrived
