...The “They say, I say” essay If you have been keeping up with the show “30 Rock” as of late then you probably have very similar views as those who have adopted a rather negative opinion of the character Liz Lemon. However Liz lemon has been judged wrongly and should be seen in higher regard. Her character has evolved into what I can only commend for being phenomenally satisfactory, despite the growing dislike for the direction in which her character seems to be headed. I think it would be nice if the fans of the show could see the subtle life lessons that are being conveyed through the show. 30 rock is a comedy series about the workings of a variety show dubbed “The Girlie Show with Tracy Jordan” told through the voice of its producer Liz lemon. “In defense of Liz Lemon” by Emily Nussbaum strives to shed light on an aspect of the show that not many individuals have realized. After a slew of negative response to the Character Liz Lemon the author aimed to clarify why Liz is not only better than when she first started out but also why her audience find her so repulsive now. Nussbaum explains how in the first season of the show, Liz Lemon was very relatable especially to women of the same age group. She was unlike other female characters at the time which was refreshing. This new take on a female lead attracted countless die-hard fans which could be credited for the shows long run. The author however points out the inconsistency in the belief that Liz lemon...

...Biology Topic A: Science and fiction 9Aa Genetic information The features of an organism are called its characteristics. Our characteristics are controlled by genetic information. This information Organisms can be classified in to different species. A species contains individuals with the same physical characteristics and common ancestors. It’s a group of organisms that can reproduce with each other and produce an offspring that will also be able to reproduce. Organisms of the same species are similar but not identical. The differences that occur both between different species and within the same species are called variation. An animal that is the offspring of parents from two different species is called a hybrid, and it is unable to reproduce. When genetic information are passed on to an organism from its parents the information are said to be inherited. Most cells have a nucleus, which is a part of the cell that controls it. The nucleus contains chromosomes which are huge molecules of DNA found inside the nucleus of the cells. A chromosome consists of a string of genes. A gene carries an instruction. It’s the section of a chromosome that controls inherited characteristics of an organism and carries genetic information. Each gene is a length of DNA. DNA is a long coiled molecule which can unzip and copy itself when a cell divides. It also carries the genetic code and makes up the chromosomes. Sex cells-egg: In female the sex cells are called eggs. Eggs...

...“They Say” and the “I Say” about whether or not to use technology. I decided to choose 2H and 3B to be included in my portfolio. First, even though the benefits of technologies are argumentative, I was amused that some of the authors proclaimed that technologies should not be used. People like me have abundant products which are made by technology around them. Ironically, the majority of authors in the book They Say I Say did not totally agree with using technologies. Sherry Turkle argues about technologies deprive the time parent spend on her; Nicholas Carr once believed that computer would replace reading. However, after understanding their points of view critically, I can speak of their views with my own words following with my personal opinions, such as why would Clive Thompson and Nicholas Carr say technologies will shape the way we think. Eventually, I decided to write...

...In the introduction to “They Say / I Say”: The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing, Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein provide templates designed to be easy to use and to help generate good writing habits for beginning arugmengive writers. Specifically, Graff and Birkenstein argue that the types of writing templates they offer are sophisticated thinking and writing templates, in which take a lot of practice, and use in order to master. ...Introduction Reading Journal In the introduction of the book “They Say/ I Say”: The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing with Reading, Gerald Graff, Cathy Birkenstein and Russel Durst emphasized three main points. Templates that can help you on your academic writing, writing being a conversation and the “They say/ I say formula”. I have always been scared of English because I always find myself struggling with how to have a structured writing. I might have my opinion but don’t know how to present where people can agree or disagree with my opinion. I have always thought that an argument activates a conversation because when you agreeing or disagreeing is necessary to explain why you think how you think. I feel that this book will defiantly help me in my academic writing....

...Yoyoooy yoyooy The workforce is becoming increasingly diverse. We know that different cultures have different values, needs, expectations, and the like. For example, some cultures have a greater emphasis on family responsibilities than others. These different situations can lead to changes in what the workforce seeks, or even requires, from an employer. These “new” situations require employers to make decisions that may not be clearly stated in existing policy. Organizations, and even employees, may begin to question whether it is “right” to require an employee to choose between a parent’s time with a ch ny, does work/life balance play in the success of an organization? Such a phenomenon occurs at school, college or university or at disco, or at a trip of excursion or at some social gatherings. The major factors leading to drug addiction are lack of parental cure and supervision, lack of moral and religious education, media and pop culture, hatred for any authority, broken homes etc…..
