School Supervision and Administration
Situation:
The Non Existing School Staff traditionally organizes a welcoming meeting for the new teachers. After they have been tested and accepted as part of the School Staff, they are to get in contact with the views and perspective that represents the soul of the School and the community.
The administration and supervision members, all together talk about the values, the vision and the mission they stand for as an institution. After the meeting one of the new teachers, Mr. Smith approaches to the Human Resources Director and tells him:
- Mr. Smith: I am really nervous. I do not know if I am going to be capable of succeeding and meeting all the needs of my students. I think I would be better for me to quit it now.
- Mrs. Purera (Principal): Sorry to interrupt, but I couldn´t help to listen what you said. I want to say something to you that might help you clear your mind and give you strengths to stay.
- Mr. Smith: What is that you have to tell me that can change my mind?
-Mrs. Purera: As part of a eclectic and open to diversity Institution, you and you colleagues must have a purpose that guides you and goals to achieve. You need to be aware of what is within yourselves to give, in order to help others and to inspire others. You have been selected as part of this staff because we can see a great potential in all of you. It does not matter if you are novice teachers, what is really relevant is your willingness to serve and do your best to gain your students respect and trust.
Your duty is not teaching, anybody could teach content to children, they are natural learners. You are not here to teach. Your role as an instructor is to inspire your students and to be there whenever you are need it.
Don´t think I ignore how difficult it is to be a great professional. It takes a considerable amount of time and effort,

My original intent for this paper was to argue that market failure, particularly in the housing sector, was the primary cause for the crash. Unfortunately my research has lead me in a different direction. According to the discussions we had in class that means I should be arguing from the perspective that the crisis was caused by government intervention then, right? I’m not so sure that’s the case either. Instead I’ll argue that the financial crisis of 2007-08 and the following “Great Recession” were the result of a perfect storm of both regulatory and market failure.
