The majority of all religious High Schools in Ontario have made it mandatory for students to wear a uniform. In my opinion, school uniforms should not be made mandatory for students in every high school in Ontario. This should not occur because the cost of uniforms can get expensive, it discourages students from displaying self-expression, and it could give school's bad reputations.

First of all, uniforms should not be made mandatory in all high schools in Ontario since it does not allow for the student to express themselves. Students want to be given the freedom to be creative with their life, in school; they do this by their hair style and clothing. Students can put their own twist on their outfits, which make them unique, if they had to wear a uniform, everyone would look the same which leaves no room for originality. This also means that students cannot be prominent from one another. Students express their emotions and hobbies through the outfits that they wear which display many positive features about them whereas Uniforms will often display the more negative aspects of a person. Lastly, uniforms are uncomfortable. Students do not always feel comfortable in some clothes, but are given no choice because the uniform for a certain school will not change for them. Also, without a uniform, students can wear what they feel they are comfortable in as well as what makes them feel good about themselves, but uniforms restrict this to approximately two different options for shirts and pants. This can cause the student to be depressed and unwilling to learn. Therefore, uniforms restrict the opportunity for students to be themselves and achieve ultimate success.

Uniforms can also give the school a bad reputation, this is because some student's alter theirs and teachers do not seem to notice. Often students will make their uniform tighter, shorter, or whatever their
