Final Project
Hello! I hope this note finds you well. If you have unearthed this time capsule in the distant future, then times have absolutely changed. It is my objective to enlighten you to a couple of of the things that this humanity has discovered to be significant and to give you an concept of what life was like in the year 2011.
In the time time span that I am composing this, numerous persons are very cognizant of their wellbeing, and I am no exception. Every forenoon, I awaken up at 5am to exercise. This encompasses not less than 45 minutes of cardiovascular workout and heaviness training. This assists me to organise my engaged work week and give me the power to join categories at night.
At present, I work as a task coordinator in the Informational Technology field. During my day, my job comprises of coordinating job location setups for job trailers and considering with mesh management and demands for my company’s nine agencies that are established all through the U.S. Although this can be time spending, I relish it and find that the busier I am, the more creative I will be. Once my workweek is over, although, I spend my time playing golf, paintball or softball. The more hardworking I can be on the weekends, the better individual I am at work and at home. Staying fit assists me to find a affirmative balance in my life that I could not manage without.
In 2011, times are very unsure, and I genuinely wish that this note will be read in more affirmative times. Here and now, too numerous countries—especially in the Middle East-- are battling, numerous of them over oil and gas. Cars in 2011 use many of both and so much of the finances is compelled to these unsustainable natural resources. Although the expertise automakers are evolving should ease our dependence on oil and gas, until they manage, the earth’s natural assets will extend to be pillaged. Perhaps my utmost wish is that this note and time capsule have discovered you in a much better and more tranquil time and that the errors we in the past have made have not produced in catastrophic consequences. If they have, then I should furthermore wish that you will discover from our triumphs and errors in order that life on Earth will be better for future generations.
At the present time, persons here manage trial to be careful of each other as much as likely, and we manage this through charitable actions. For demonstration, when a natural catastrophe like an soil quake or hurricane hits, persons arrive simultaneously to supply provision, emotional support, and health vigilance to those in need. We furthermore work simultaneously to rebuild the localities that have been hit. Rather than anticipate other ones to fend for themselves or reside in unsafe situation, we accept as factual that we are an worldwide community who should aid other ones in rebuilding their lives. Even though there is many of conflict, famine, misdeed, we still accept as factual that persons are good and the conclusion to assist other ones, in spite of the horrors that proceed on, is a conclusion that should be made. For in assisting other ones, we finally assist us as well.
Happiness to me can be characterised as a state of contentment from experiencing life’s straightforward pleasures—like being adept to stroll or run, activities that numerous persons take for granted. I came to this comprehending from being round a family constituent who became paralyzed when he was juvenile and lost the use of his legs. Despite this, he still discovered delight in easily being alive. Being round him made me recognize how fortunate I am, but furthermore that my treasure could effortlessly change. Since that realization, I have reveled in the untainted delight of being adept to use my legs and have not ever taken it for granted.
Death of a Salesman : Although this play by Arthur Miller was in writing in 1949, its note is timeless. The play notifies the article of Willie Lowman, a salesman who has unseeing belief in the American dream. While he endeavours to reside it, he only does well in falling short to attain it. In the play, Willy Lowman’s young children are ruined and they rob from other ones as if it is their right to manage so. Willy, as he ages and develops failed, his proficiency to make payments on his vehicle, appliances, and things becomes progressively difficult. In essence, he overspends to purchase the things that would make him emerge to other ones like he and his family are certain thing more than what they are. Death of a Salesman best features the difficulties with materialism, certain thing that Americans have become progressively obsessed with, and so much in order that they would forfeit their inhabits and the well-being of other ones just to have anything it is they want.
Pablo Picasso decorated his masterpiece Guernica in answer to the German and Spanish Nationalist strike on the village of the identical name. On the day Guernica was assaulted in 1937, the Germans pummeled the village, which had no infantry implication for three hours with more than a century 1000 pounds of blasting apparatus and explosives. The carnage was devastating, and the Germans discovered no remorse in murdering men, women, and even little children. Picasso depicts these horrors in his painting. Perhaps the most memorable of the pictures is of the mother on the left-side of the decorating, who is retaining her dead progeny and shouting up to the heavens.
Although the bombing of Guernica was horrific, it appears that no courses were learned. Innocent persons still pass away at the total cost of those who desire to be in power. This decorating is in the time capsule as a reminder that conflict is awful and finally the world should recall the courses from history.

Blowin’ in the Wind” by Bob Dylan
This recital inquires numerous inquiries about when persons will awaken up and be cognizant of the alterations that should be made, yet all of the inquiries are then responded with “The response my ally is blowing in the wind. The response is blowing in the wind.” When Bob Dylan composed this recital in 1963, times were absolutely altering and persons were evolving more cognizant of communal justice. In spite of the perception, atrocities were still occurring.
“Blowin’ in the Wind” is in this time capsule to recall those of you in the future to not less than request the answers. In the inquiries you represent, the responses will either be conspicuous to you or they will overtake you by (blowing in the wind) if you disregard them. While persons from the past liked and searched change, they not ever appeared to be adept to manage sufficient to actually convey about the calm they so longed for and would vocalise about. Regardless, they still endeavoured and that solely made rather of a difference. Perhaps if those of you in the future play this recital and hear to the phrases then perhaps, just perhaps, you will be adept to eventually response the inquiries that the recital inquires and make the alterations required in order that no one will have to bear or pass away senselessly.
“Star Wars”
George Lucas’s “Star Wars” not only escorted in a entire new era in film-making, it furthermore made space investigation, and the likelihood of life on other satellites, appear more feasible. It furthermore has a timeless theme: good vs. evil. In the movie, the juvenile Luke Skywalker discovers of his destiny to become a Jedi knight, which his dad one time was. Although Skywalker’s tale becomes more perplexing in later videos and controller Lucas makes prequels, it is the initial “Star Wars” that sparked the imaginations of those who first observed it in 1976 and every other lifetime since.

Perhaps one may believe that “Star Wars” is in the time capsule to give those of you from the future a good laugh. Seeing how crude the expertise was in the film—and then understanding it was not even real—may assist you to recognize how far you have come. The movie is recorded because of its topic, however. There has habitually been, and habitually will be, a labour between good and evil. Regardless, if one values the ‘force,’ good will finally prevail.

(about.com 2011). What steps are taken? Typically, the scientific method involves the following steps: First, ask a question or other questions in relation to the subject or topic. The questions need to be specific in order to provide direct focus to the inquiry.   Secondly, research the topic. The research needs to be detailed in order to learn as much as possible to help with your question. Third, formulate a hypothesis. A hypothesis is a statement regarding the cause and effect of the situation surrounding your question. Fourth, Test the hypothesis. Testing involves the planning and carrying out of a procedure or set of procedures to gather data (about.com 2011). Whether we know it or not the scientific method is being used in everything we do. ...Science Meets Real Life Angela Adams Kaplan University SC300: Big Ideas in Science: From Methods to Mutation Investigation A health department investigation has been initiated to discover why students have been missing school. In my research I have found both Truman and Jackson Middle Schools to have above average absentee records for the month of May. I was able to review school event calendars, interviews with students’ parents, attendance records, school announcements and messages. These items for review are what I used to be able to present my evidence and form my two hypotheses. Hypothesis number one is, “Could exposure to the West Nile virus be causing the children's symptoms?” Hypothesis number two is, “Could unsanitary food conditions in the area be making the children sick?” I was able to dismiss further questions whether the West Nile Virus could be the culprit, as there was only one school announcement mentioning it, and there was no other evidence to support the spread of the West Nile Virus. However, upon a thorough investigation of my second hypothesis, concerning unsanitary food conditions, I found two restaurants that had been cited for poor sanitary food practices. And, after the examination of the schools’ event calendars and attendance records, I was able to deduce that band students at both schools had very similar symptoms of sickness, which where: stomach ache, diarrhea, fever, and some vomiting...

Testable Questions: 1. What percentage above normal statistics in the month of May, were absent? 2. What classes or course of study received the most absences? 3. How do the absences relate to one another? 4. Are the symptoms of the absent students consistent with one another? 5. Were any of the absent students at any school social events or competitions together? Hypothesis one: Utilizing the absence data given in regards to the month of May, along with parent interviews and calendar events we can compare absences and symptoms with recent calendar events. Once we have an increase of absences we can start our trending of events (chart 3) who was involved and when they...

...There is no mistaking it - the benefits from science are all around us. It has made our daily lives better through medicine, healthcare, technological, electrical and even mechanical innovation. If you are reading this paper on a computer, it is science that made it all possible. Understanding the many complexities of science can be quite a difficult undertaking, however, there is a common denominator that all scientists use in achieving the amazing results that they achieve; they use the scientific method. The scientific method allows scientists to utilize a common approach to address the requirements of the scientific community. These techniques allow other scientists, as well as just the layman, to know that there has been a standardized system applied to the scientific process. I will present a brief example of what the scientific method is and how to apply it to a real life issue. Scenario 1: You arrive home late at night. You walk up to the front door, unlock it, and reach in to turn on the light switch located just inside the front door. The light does not come on! Now what? Oh, no. It's dark and difficult to see. Why isn't the light going on? Let's see. What could be the problem? Well, let me use my scientific method to see if I can figure this out. Step 1. Define the problem: The light will not go on. Why might this be? It could be lots of reasons. Maybe the bulb is out. Maybe the switch is broken. Maybe the circuit breaker has been shut off. Maybe we're having...

...Wired and Wireless Communication Channels Kaplan University Assignment: Wired and Wireless Communication Channels Rudy Chavez February 19, 2013 Course: IT 331 Technology Infrastructure Instructor: Prof. James 1. You have been asked to design a LAN with operation over a distance of about 100m. Compare and contrast twisted pair cable, coaxial cable, fiber-optics, and wireless for this application. You should create a table or flow chart which would facilitate choosing between these options depending on circumstances. The table or flow chart should be submitted as part of your document. You may not submit a separate file. The choice of media to be used for a network that spans 100 meters depends upon several factors and requirements that include cost, ease of installation, environmental factors such as the need to trench and EMI or Electromagnetic Interference, performance and attenuation, security, and network fault tolerance. Regarding each type of media (includes the supporting network devices), the least expensive would be an unshielded twisted pair in the form of CAT 5 or 6, which is also generally the least expensive to install (flexible cable and lower cost network equipment), but not resistant to environmental factors such as EMI (unless the more expensive shielded variety is used). A twisted pair does support higher network speeds, up to 1000 Mbps over the 100 meter distance. Coaxial cable would be more expensive to install than twisted pair due to higher...

...Unit 2 Project Science Meets Real Life SC300: Big Ideas in Science: From Methods to Mutation Professor: Christine Snyder Submitted by Rodrigo Gonzalez Date: February 14, 2012 Question #1- Is there is a common reason for the absences? Explain. There seems to be a spike in absences at the Truman Middle and Jackson Middle schools’ band class. The spike in Truman Middle school occurrence took place between the dates of May 20th and May, 21st with close to 35% absent. In Jackson Middle school the occurrence took place at the same time with 25% absent. It seems there may possibility of an out-brake of some type of viral infection that has caused so many student’s to be out of school. There seems to be some type of epidemic because it happened in Truman Middle on May 20 & 21st then dwindle down beginning March 22nd, and at the Jackson Middle school on May 20th then this dwindled down on May 22nd. The attendance shows no major impact in all other classes and middle schools. Truman Middle school had an absentee percentage of 33.3% on May 20th and Jackson Middle had a 25% absentee percentage and was due to the band class, all other classes had a normal absentee percentage rate (Community Health Department, 2012). There does not seems to be any attendance dilemma at either The Kennedy Middle or Roosevelt Middle Schools or any other classes at Truman or Jackson Middle Schools other than band on May 20th through May 22nd (Community Health Department, 2012). Jones Kaplan University SC300-09 Professor Morris December 5, 2010 Science Meets Real Life 2 Science Meets Real Life: Unit 10 Final Project With life you never know what to expect, a famous actor once quoted in a movie Life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you will get. (Forrest Gump, 2000). That was an understatement if you were to ask me! But what most individuals dont realize is that life and science go hand and hand. We use reasoning to denote certain things about people or places. We even use the scientific method to solve everyday problems without even realizing it. Take a look at two of my life scenarios and see how I applied the scientific method to each of these problems and came up with my solution. After that we will take a ride and see why I cannot live with or without science. So hold this should be an interesting journey. As I started my entrance into my home one night after getting off late to find that the light to the front room would not come on. I asked myself two questions; why did the light not come on and what could be wrong with it? Here is where we use the scientific method in our lives without even giving it a second thought. After I asked those two questions I had to do some research and come up with a few good reasons or in science terms (construct a hypothesis) as to why the light did not come on. After careful consideration I came up with two hypotheses...

Science Mets Real World

...SCIENCE MEETS REAL LIFE 2 The scientific method is the set of actions that one takes when trying to figure something out. It is based on the principle of cause and effect (Ward). By definition there must be five steps in order for the scientific method to occur. The first action is observing something that piques one’s curiosity. The second action, questioning, may occur simultaneously. Something is seen, and questions come into the observers mind like “Why does that work like that?”, or “What would happen if…” The third action is called the hypothesis, which everyone remembers from grade school means, an educated guess. This can also be referred to as a prediction. Logically, the fourth step is to test this hypothesis through experimentation. Finally, an explanation is created as a result of testing the hypothesis (Pruitt, 2006). It is important to note that the experimentation phase of the scientific method can be a very lengthy one. The results of experiments may support one’s hypothesis, but further experimentation may be needed to account for other factors or scenarios. If the experiment does not support the hypothesis, more research may be needed as to why. More experiments will follow. Experimenting can raise more questions, which may require one to start the process over from the first step again. People use the scientific method numerous times every day, without ever thinking of it. While the phrase “scientific method” normally conjures up images...

...EXPERIENCE IN EDUCATION AS EDUCATOR “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” Nelson Mandela. I am the one who love science so much! As my father told me since I was in high school. He told me that I can get the goodness in this world or other world after the death by using knowledge, science. So I really use it as my soul of learning on my life. By loving science, I would hope that the knowlegde will love me and be my best friend in make the changes in life. As Mr. Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. That is really a powerful thought that make him really change the world. He struggled for the life of his peole in South Africa. He was the first black president in South Africa (1994-1999). And his powerful influence not only in his country, but in the world. His powerful thought is still popular until now. He is my inspiration about education. I had been teaching in Indonesia since December 2010 until November 2013 before I came to the Philippines to continue my study in Maternal and Child Nursing. I was an educator in the private scool of midwifery and also educator in alternative school in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. Science and Math

...Science and math integration unit I chose a culminating activity to use after the students had completed learning about fractions, ratios and percentages in math and in life science learning about the ecosystems and inquiry and observations to solve problems. The activity I chose has students looking at trees within a forest near the school. My rationale for selecting this project is that students in this area do a lot of hunting this time of year and are outside in the wilderness a lot during the month of October. I thought that this lesson would make them more aware of their environment and provide them a different way to look at their surroundings before they went off to the mountains for hunting elk and deer. I believe the students will be very interested in this unit of study and also it will help them to be more observant as they are hunting this next month. I tried to write a unit of study that students in this area would enjoy doing, one that would fit with their lifestyle and have a meaningful positive outcome upon completion. This is a summary of a culminating unit for science and math. Students will measure off a section of the forest and count quaking aspen trees and lodge pole pine trees within the measured off area. Students will then use the 12 processes of science and math skills to answer questions and complete investigations to solve the science question. The students need to collect data, chart it and analyze it to answer questions using math skills...

The Rental Heart

...but also of how real love can overcome technology in place to fake it. This subject is exactly what the main character is dealing with in the short story “The Rental Heart”. That leads me to the setting of the story. The shorty, “The Rental Heart” is written by Kirsten Logan in 2010. We do not know where and when the short story takes place. Neither do we know if the main character is a he or she. In my interpretation of the short story, I have interpreted the main character as being a she. The main character is portrayed by a third person limited narrator, because we hear the story from the main characters point of view. Seen from the main characters point of view we get a description of the surroundings and feelings the main person is dealing with. The short story has two big flashbacks. Grace is first presented as the girl the main character falls in love with, with no risk of being hurt. On the way to the rental place the narrator looks back and remembers all the times it has been done before and in the end we see the narrator in Grace’s arms again. In the beginning of the short story, we get introduced to the “heart rental place”. This is a place where u can rent a heart and change it when you change partners. So when your emotions gets too much, you can replace your heart and feelings with a new heart. More about the main character is that she is bi-sexual, because she dates both gender. Through the short story she seems confused and lost in her love life. We experience...
