I also planned to interview a gifted student in the PACT program, but unfortunately the student was sick and not at school. Nonetheless, I believe I received a great deal of information from the stakeholders that I interviewed and I think I have a fairly vivid image of what PACT is. PACT is a team of resource teachers that rotate to serve schools within the district. So the PACT teacher I interviewed does not work at Roosevelt Middle School, rather she works for the district and rotates to different elementary and middle schools where she offers highly challenging activities in science, humanities, mathematics, and language arts. This is why I was unable to have a face to face interview with her. I also found out that PACT serves roughly 800 hundred elementary students alone in the Cedar Rapids Community School District. The teachers of PACT also seem to be fairly qualified as employees must have a gifted and talented endorsement.
