...Abstract This report is express results and findings from three different experiments which were done by Galileo. The link between weights, time, angles, and lengths of pendulums . The results showed that the shorter pendulum took less time to complete full 10 swings. The length and weight has no influence on the pendulum. 1.0 Introduction The Italian scientists Galilie Galileo (1564-1642) established experimentally that heavy objects fall at practically the same rate. It was obvious to this scientists that a feather and heavy stone did not fall at the same acceleration. But, heavy objects of different masses appeared to fall at a uniform acceleration. Galileo did not measure the magnitude of the acceleration of falling object. Instead, Galileo was able to compare the velocities of objects on ramps at different heights. But Galileo’s ramp investigations is believed to have been after his investigation of the movement of pendulums. This investigation aim to find out some relationships between three quantities by three experiments . The features measured the time, length and weights, angles which are all dependent factors in experiments. The hypothesis is that there is no effect by changing the weights and lengths and shorter pendulum took less time to complete full 10 swings based on the formula : 2.0 Procedure and Materials To test this hypothesis, the equipments were some strings, coins(masses), nails(fix point), cups, timer and protractor. Experiment 1: a) Attach a weighted...

...Dear Eleanor Moylan, It has come to my attention that you never received your letter from us regarding a placement at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I am afraid that this news has come to my attention at such late notice, on the day of your 20th birthday, however I would like to offer a formal apology. After the Battle of Hogwarts in 1998 a large portion of potential student records were lost in the battle, information regarding Muggle-born, Half-bloods and Pure-records from 1995 to 1997 were lost or damaged beyond redemption. We worked tirelessly with the ministry of magic to amend this issue however we just simply weren’t able to restore all the respective documents for every child born within that timeframe. It comes with great remorse to say that this is my last term as head teacher at Hogwarts. After more than a decade acting as the headmistress of this school I feel I have offered all I can to the pupils and staff. I would just like to say, off the record, that I am definitely not retiring on account of a certain pupil starting this coming semester. After all the trouble that last Potter put me through all those years ago I can’t imagine going through all of that again with Albus Potter. But alas, I seem to have wondered off topic, something I seem to being doing a lot as of recently, I must admit this is partly due to me getting on a bit. As a token of my apology I would like to offer you a copy of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Parts 1 &...

...ggrgegregrgregrg fefe A report or account is any informational work (usually of writing, speech, television, or film) made with the specific intention of relaying information or recounting certain events in a widely presentable form. Written reports are documents which present focused, salient content to a specific audience. Reports are often used to display the result of an experiment, investigation, or inquiry. The audience may be public or private, an individual or the public in general. Reports are used in government, business, education, science, and other fields. Reports use features such as graphics, images, voice, or specialized vocabulary in order to persuade that specific audience to undertake an action. One of the most common formats for presenting reports is IMRAD: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion. This structure is standard for the genre because it mirrors the traditional publication of scientific research and summons the ethos and credibility of that discipline. Reports are not required to follow this pattern, and may use alternative patterns like the problem-solution format. Additional elements often used to persuade readers include: headings to indicate topics, to more complex formats including charts, tables, figures, pictures, tables of contents, abstracts, and nouns summaries, appendices, footnotes, hyperlinks, and references. Some examples of reports are: scientific reports, recommendation reports, white papers, annual reports, auditor's reports, workplace...

All writing is done using the passive voice and the past tense. Title • Reflect on the factual content of the paper. • Use fewer than 10 words. • Describe your specific investigation. o For instance “The Effect of Road Salt on Lentil Seed Germination and Growth” rather than “Seed Experiment” Abstract Provide a brief overview of the report in your own words The abstract should contain 5 parts (as outlined in abstract rubric) o Purpose, Hypothesis, Procedure, Results, Conclusion Be specific about results - do not use phrases like "it worked". Be very careful NOT to copy text from the lab handout. The abstract should be one paragraph and contain scientific terminology Problem • State the problem specifically in question form. o For instance, “What is the effect of road salt on the germination and growth of lentil seeds?” Hypothesis State the hypothesis using the "If, then. because" format. ...

...sustainability report considers the contribution and impact that non-financial issues have on the company, it can range from Governance to Climate Change. It is a complex concept, but in summary it is “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. – www.sustain.ucla.edu Recently reporting on certain sustainability issues have now become mandatory to report – “UK government announces that under the Companies Act 2006, companies are now required to report their emissions in their directors’ report”. * Why is it important Along with the recent introduction of the G4 standards and the GRI recommendations, the significance of a sustainability report has become progressively more critical as pressures on companies both publically and institutionally to provide and publish reports increases in light of recent natural disasters. It is said that we “use about 40% more resources every year compared to what we put back”, some companies make it their mission to make it known that they give back to the environment e.g. Velvet. There is a need for a measurement system to be put in place to assess industry’s impact however currently accounting is inadequate for numerous reasons. - - http://ezproxy.bcu.ac.uk:2055/science/article/pii/S0155998210000128 The increase in awareness has meant that external users e.g. customers, investors and even shareholders are making decisions based on these reports. ...9 Formal Reports and Proposals he distinctions between formal and informal reports are often blurred. Nevertheless, a formal report is usually written to someone in another company or organization. Occasionally it is written for a senior manager in the same company, or for someone with whom the writer has little regular contact. Usually it is longer than an informal report and requires more extensive research. Unless you are a consultant, you are unlikely to be asked to write a formal report often. When you are, there may be a lot riding on it— including your reputation. The purpose of this chapter is to show you how to write a formal report and how to put together the kind of proposal that often precedes it. As Figure 9-1 shows, many of the elements of formal reports are the same as those for informal ones. You need to pay the same attention to headings, lists, and illustrations, for example. Although much of the advice in the previous chapter could be duplicated in this one, the emphasis here will be on those areas where there’s a difference. T Figure 9-1 Contrasting Features of Informal and Formal Reports Informal Formal Reader often internal often external or distant within organization Length • usually short • several sections • usually long (3 pages or more) • sections and subsections Tone • personal • contractions • more impersonal • no contractions Summary integrated on separate page Introduction ...

In drawing out the commonalities of their experiences, we have begun to shed light on the terrain. We must transform the terrain if women are to have equality and safety in their workplaces...
