The third object found was a white clay pipe which dates to be around the 1600s around the time of the settlement of Jamestown. These pipes were used to smoke tobacco. The pipe measures about 6 inches in length. 4. The fourth object we found was what seemed to be the remains of a jug, by further examination of the jug we concluded the jug was made of pottery and more specifically the type of pottery known as stoneware. The art work on the jug shows us that it was made between 1600-1610. 5. The fifth and final object found was an iron nail, more specifically it was a wrought iron nail found made after the 16th century.
