...black, then the observation which is one of the scientific methodology must be proved that all raven over the world is black. If so, the claim can be accepted as the truth. However, this is not possible that the purportents can observe all raven in the world. This is why inductive method has the limitations on itself. Thus, Popper thought that real science should be falsifiable not examinable for all observations. This is the principle of falsifiability. For instance, if there is at least one raven which is white due to albino-mutant, then the claim is regraded as a false. So, there is the room for the improvement on the claim, that is, science or scientific theory. From this point of view, Popper regraded Marxism and astronology is pseudo-scinece since its explanation fits all observations. So, he claimed that these theories are merely theories masking science, that is,...

...Question:- Think of a recent transaction and/or interaction that you had with any business entity,or a staff of an organization. • Describe your experience from larger to personal context. • How did this influence the outcome of your communication? Answer:- Recently I went to the showroom of TOSHIBA near Uttara in order to buy a laptop. After getting admitted in IBA-JU, I greatly felt the necessity of having a laptop. Moreover, if I consider the larger contexts, then I must say that it is the age of scinece and technology and our economic condition also permits me to do so. So, using a laptop is very much necessary considering the suurrounding culture. Regarding personal contexts, I decided to buy a black colored laptop from TOSHIBA because it has a well reputation in the market. I didn’t have the address of its showrooms but I had an e-mail address. So, I sent an e-mail asking for the address of its showrooms and what types of laptops were available within my financial capacity as I knew that the prices were fixed. Then I got an e-mail from TOSHIBA where all necessary informations were given. But there arised another problem because there was no laptop available within my financial capacity. Those were too much expensive for me. The company also sent some models of netbook which were within my capacity. So, I went to the showroom and the salesmen showed me different models of netbook. I couldn’t decide what to do because still I was thinking...

...Network Structure and Inter-organizational Knowledge Sharing Capability ABSTRACT This paper examines how the structure of a supply network can affect the inter-organizational knowledge sharing capability, which is expressed by absorptive capacity and shared identity. The supply network structure is analyzed by two dimensions – formality and centrality. Propositions about the relationships between network structure and knowledge sharing capability are suggested at the end. Subject Areas: Supply chain management, Inter-organizational knowledge sharing, Absorptive capacity, Shared identity, Network structure. 1 1. INTRODUCTION Historically, individual organizations have tried to improve their own performance in an effort to gain competitive advantage. Today, the success of an individual organization depends largely on the performance of its suppliers and customers [1]. Consequently, supply chain or supply network management is one of the critical success factors in today’s marketplace [2]. As organizations increasingly connect with and rely on partners and suppliers in their supply networks, interdependencies among these organizations naturally increase. This increase, in turn, makes today’s supply networks more complex [3], and members of such complex supply networks face many sources of uncertainties – internal as well as external1. Fisher [4] argues that the strategy of the supply network – lean vs. responsive – should be aligned with the product types – functional vs...

...I.Study Background A first class canteen which can be tagged as "a place cut above the rest" in the whole campus or even in the city or region was planned to be established in Holy Angel University and was altered as years went by. Holy Angel then established a café instead and HRM practicum students are said to run the facility and make it as their training grounds to practice theories learned from their course. Because of the feasibility studies about a shop inside a campus of some of the students done by two HRM groups, the plan was further strengthened. They named the establishment as Tasa which means cup and the other is Café Holyana for the school’s name and its students. The management did not adopt the ideas of the two groups instead, named it as Cafe Juan to honor the late Don Juan Nepomuceno who is the founder of the University. After months of preparation preceding the construction, procuring the needed equipment, making the menu (costing and pricing) relative to the bought equipment; and other things needed for the operation. On August 28, 2003, Cafe Juan had its soft opening. The establishment has a 100 seating capacity which could be adjusted to 120 depending on function needs. Catering services within the campus is also accepted or provided by Café Juan. Café store hours are from 9:00-7:00pm from Mondays - Saturdays. Café Juan is currently under the supervision of Mrs. Patricia S. Ambrocio, who is directly under Mrs. Gertrude P. Tuazon, currently the dean of the...

...bureaucracy tend to be understood as incompatible systems of work organization, represented by the ideals of collegiality and autonomy versus control and supervision. I present a historical case study from early 20th century Norway examining the potential clash between efforts made toward professionalization and bureaucratization in industry. Based on my findings, I argue that there is neither an inherent conflict between professionalism and bureaucracy nor static national trajectories at the level of professional versus bureaucratic work organization. Keywords: professionalism; bureaucracy; engineers; engineering; history; transnational Pål Nygaard Centre for the Study of Professions, Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Scineces Contact: Department of Innovation and Economic Organisation, Handelshøyskolen BI, 0442 Oslo, Norway Pal.Nygaard@ bi.no Page 11 For a long time, theories on professions brought forth the contention of an inherent conflict between professionalism and bureaucracy, contributing to a division between the sociology of professions and organizations. During the past decade, various scholars have contested both the argument of conflict and the fruitfulness of division (Bourgeault, Hirschkorn, & Sainsaulieu, 2011; Muzio & Kirkpatrick, 2011; Evetts, 2010). Recent trends toward organizing the work of professions in large organizations and stronger monitoring of professions seem to have been major impulses underlying this shift, which in turn have...
