3DPLM Software Solutions Limited (3DPLM), established in 2002 is joint venture between Geometric Ltd. (BSE:532312, NSE: GEOMETRIC), a leader in Product Lifecycle Management(PLM), Global Engineering Services, and Offshore Product Development(OPD) solutions and technologies and Dassault Systemes (Nasdaq : DASTY; Euronext Paris : #13065, DSY.PA), a 3DEXPERIENCE Company and world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions.

We work on product development, industrialization, maintenance, documentation, and market support for cutting-edge and innovative products like CATIA, ENOVIA, DELMIA, GEOVIA, SIMULIA, 3DVIA, SolidWorks and ACIS. PLM Product Development
At 3DPLM, we help Dassault Systemes in the development of world leading PLM products. These products provide end to end solutions for product life cycle management in industry domains like Automotive, Aerospace, Ship building, Consumer Goods, Hi-Tech to name a few.

The development activity includes Specifications, Design and Development of new features for upcoming releases of Dassault’s products like CATIA, ENOVIA, DELMIA, SIMULIA, 3DVIA, SolidWorks and ACIS. We also work on maintenance of these products already in use by thousands of customers world-wide.

Apart from expertise in programming languages like C++, Java / J2EE and .NET, our developers also have skills in understanding customer processes and their requirements which is highly essential for developing effective solutions. We use leading edge architectures & technologies like SOA, Web Services, Cloud and latest Microsoft & Java tools.

Challenges in implementing complex algorithms – be it in 3D geometry, business intelligence solutions or real life simulations are a regular feature of the development work done at 3DPLM. By virtue of our passion for being the best, we follow rigorous and well established software development processes to deliver the best in class quality software. Product Testing & Quality Assurance
Creative destruction is probably the best abstraction for the product testing & quality assurance activities done at 3DPLM.

We ensure quality of Dassault’s world leading products like CATIA, ENOVIA, DELMIA, SIMULIA, 3DVIA, SolidWorks and ACIS through a range of quality assurance activities.

Quality starts with the definition of an effective test strategy and design of test cases that represent real life industrial scenarios and simulate customer specific environments. A wide range of testing ranging from functional testing to installation testing is carried out to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Our people have the right mix of product expertise and industry domain knowledge to ensure the quality of Dassault’s products so that they can be efficiently used in multiple industry segments such as automotive, aerospace, ship building, consumer goods, life sciences, apparel etc.

Customer Support
We provide front end and back end support to Dassault’s global customers using their products in various industry segments. The support activity includes resolving customer queries by suggesting workarounds and advising them best practices for using the products. Internally, there is a strong liaison between support, development and quality assurance to make sure that customer requests are fulfilled to their satisfaction.

Ensuring happy customers demands expertise in product knowledge, very good understanding of customer processes / practices and excellent communication skills. Our support group at 3DPLM has chosen people with these skills who always strive for customer delight. Product Documentation & Courseware Development

We work on Product Documentation and Courseware development for various Dassault Systemes products.

Product documentation involves writing Context Sensitive Help and User Guides that help the end users to get familiar with the product features and understand its behavior in different usage scenarios. Courseware development involves creating user centric and process centric training courses.

Our integrated team of certified product experts, technical writers, instructional designers and graphics experts deliver interactive courses that are rich in industry relevant content, graphics and animation using authoring and graphics tools like XMetaL, Adobe FrameMaker and Dreamweaver.

Product lifecycle management (PLM) is the process of managing the entire lifecycle of a product from its conception, through design and manufacture, to service and disposal.

PLM is an Integrated Solution to manage enterprise’s Product data, Processes & Resources in an integrated , collaborative and consistent manner through all stages of the Product Life Cycle. In a enterprise environment, PLM is the Technology that helps people to manage both Product Data and Product Development Process.

PLM is used to,

Keep track of the masses of Data and information required to design, development, manufacturing and then support and maintain products.

Organize, access, and control all data related to an enterprises' products and to manage the lifecycle of those products.

Enable organizations to link their designers, engineers and manufacturing plants, Suppliers, Consultants together in a seamless web.

Engineering Change Management Supplier Management Configuration Management Document Management

Release Management Workflow Management and Control

The essential elements of PLM:

Manages design and process documents

Constructs and controls bill of material (product structure) records

Offers an electronic file repository

Includes built-in and custom part and document metadata ("attributes")

Identifies materials content for environmental compliance

Permits item-focused task assignments

Enables workflow and process management for approving changes

Controls multi-user secured access, including "electronic signature"

Exports data for downstream ERP systems

Typical Benefits of PLM adaptation:

Reduced Product Development time Robust design and manufacturing reliability Integrated process, Adoption of Industry Best practices Assured data integrity Better management of Engineering Change Efficient – ‘On-line’ collaboration Automation, Cost reduction and improved Quality Reduced Time to Market
