...Peterson Academies of Technology and plan to graduate in 2018. At Peterson I am involved in a variety of activities such as a mentorship with General Electric sponsored by the Beyond School Walls program. Last year several of my articles were published in the school newspaper The Talon and I participated in the Peterson’s art show. I have volunteered at the Main Jacksonville Library and will continue to do so in my eleventh grade year. I am also a member of Peterson’s robotics team. In our last competition season we participated in both the First Tech Challenge (FTC) and SeaPerch. Our SeaPerch team won the district competition and represented Northeast Florida in the International SeaPerch competition. After I graduate high school I plan to attend college and pursue a double major in science and engineering. Abstract This paper reviews the coastal fishery resources of Bangladesh emphasizing the coastal environment, capture fisheries and management issues relative to the sector. Bangladesh’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) covers an area of about 166 000 km2. This area has abundant natural resources such as fish, shrimps, crabs and other marine products. Shrimp and fish trawling is the most important economic activity in this area. The fishery sector makes a significant contribution to the national economy in terms of foreign exchange, income generation and employment. It is very important in nutrition, especially in providing animal protein. In 1997 - 99, the marine fisheries sector contributed 22% of the total fishery production of 1 373 000 t.
