...k N427 Midterm Self Evaluation 1. Perform assessments and analyses at the individual/family, community, and systems levels of practice. I’ve met the objective of performing assessments and analyses at the individual/family, community, and systems levels practice in many ways. The assessment and analyses at the individual/family level has been a little more difficult, due to the work I do at my clinical site. I’ve assessed behaviors of children and adults that I’ve worked with and reflected on why they may be acting the way they’re for example, I assisted Holly, a WSU employee, teach nutrition at an elementary school. At the beginning of the class, I observed one of the children, being disruptive, and distracting his other classmates. The teacher...

...Overall, I thought my speech was good. Definitely room for improvement and I realized a couple things that I need to work on. I was a little nervous, but that could have just been because of the amount of coffee I drank. So, yes I was nervous but I did enjoy giving the speech at the same time. When I went back to my seat I immediately felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I was a little thrown off with the note cards I must say. I kept on looking to that particular corner of the room because I was paranoid. I thought I made it as clear as I could have when informing about my thesis, main points and supporting material however I would like to see my peer evaluation from someone who knew little or nothing about the topic before the speech. I would rate my speech at a 7/10 (10 being the highest) just because I know I can do better. I feel like I wasn’t as organized as I should have been. I felt like I crammed everything in towards the end just to stay within my time boundaries. At the same time, I think I accomplished my goal pretty well for my first informative speech. I understand it is a learning experience and I am excited to give my next one. I recall having a good tone of voice and making sure that I was clear as well as making good eye contact. I do remember in class when preparing for the speech to remember to get the audience involved to the questions I asked in the speech came in handy. Overall I thought that I delivered my message well. Things that I know...

...1. Summary of self-evaluation outcomes The self-evaluation tool enabled me to determine aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s culture that I didn’t understand and was not confident translating into clinical practice. I am confident in my current views and beliefs associated with my own culture and heritage and I’m successfully able to implement these into practice. However, I understand that my beliefs, views and biases can impact others throughout my practice and my cultural background can often lead others to have misconceived perception of my views and beliefs, due to my culture. I understand and accept that every culture has different ideologies, social structure and beliefs and through this understanding,...

...“What is your topic?” My topic is “Child behavior is worse today than it was ten years ago”. “What are the possible different main claims/positions related to this topic?” The possible different main claims/positions related to this topic are agreeing that child behavior is worse today, disagreeing that they are worst and also being neutral all with argumentative reasoning. “What is your position regarding the topic?” I agree that child behavior today is worse than it was ten years ago with argumentative reasoning. “What ‘evidence’ have you offered to support your claim/position? Have you included your survey results?” The evidence offered to support my claim/position is through conversations I have had with others on the subway, at work, at the beauty salon and just about everywhere I travel, also through my research of study on the subject. Yes, I have included my survey results. “Put your claim/position and “evidence’ through the ‘Scientific Method’ and ‘Proving a theory’ steps. Are there any steps on which your claim/position and evidence do not measure up to the examination? If so, what can you do to make them more acceptable?” Providing evidence through the ‘Scientific Method’ has measured up to the examination. However the steps to ‘Proving a theory’ may give you the evidence to have a strong case but not actually proof that your theory has been proven. There will most likely be other evidence that will give your audience or viewers a different perspective on...

...Work Environments That Negate Counterproductive Behaviors and Foster Organizational Citizenship: Research-Based Recommendations for Managers Katherine M. Fodchuk Department of Psychology Old Dominion University Past research has identified both employee characteristics and aspects of the work environment that can serve as antecedents to positive and negative workplace behavior. This article reviews research identifying the major factors that prompt both counterproductive work behaviors (CWB) and organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB). The dynamics of these relations are discussed, and possible approaches for workplace diagnosis and interventions designed to negate CWB and foster OCB are offered. A special focus on the implications of and possible interventions incorporating organizational justice are also presented. In the past several years, organizational behavior literature has benefited from a growing body of research that has moved beyond investigations of task performance and ventured into other performance domains of counterproductive work behavior (CWB) and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB; Conlon, Meyer, & Nowakowski, 2005; Dalal, 2005). This research has revealed both employee characteristics and aspects of the work environment that can serve as antecedents to such positive or negative behavior. For instance, studies have examined organizational factors such as job design (Tompson & Werner, 1997), organizational injustice (e.g., Aquino...

...In my speech to explain, I spent a lot of time researching about Social Networking. I also spent a lot of time preparing, timing, and searching for various sorts of research. I found a lot of different and interesting types of information and looked at it closely so I knew what I was talking about. For instance, I used a lot of search engines and different websites to explain different types of social networking and what social networking was about a long with how it is used in businesses. I tried not to practice too much to sound like I was memorizing the speech but I thought I thoroughly knew it well. I tried to make it an interesting speech by adding information that people didn’t really understand in the past. Such as how it is beneficial to most people on using social networking in the working area or when you have a business. I used simple language so the audience could clearly understand what I was talking about and not go into words that they wouldn’t understand. To develop and organize the speech: I pointed out the main topic as to what I was going to be talking about. I know people know a lot about social networking but in some cases of my speech there were certain topics that most people wouldn’t understand or know about. I thought my introduction and delivery was pretty good. I believe I had good rate, volume and posture. One thing I did notice was the eye contact and wish I didn’t look down at my note cards so much because I know for a fact I knew the speech...

...Susan Keenan English 092 Professor Lett June 17, 2012 I let my life be a looking glass and barometer of how I want and need to be treated in this lifetime. In this life we all want and need different things. My wants and need are simple ideas but the execution of these ideas is not always easy. All people have needs and all people have gifts given to them in their lives. It is what we all choose to do with the gifts that will determine our story of discovery. When our gifts are discovered, it is up to us to use them and show the world what these gifts are. This is why I let my life be a looking glass and barometer of how I want and need to be treated in this lifetime. All needs basics to survive; light, food, water and shelter. These are the basic necessities but have we ever thought what else it is that we need in our lives? In my life, I require honesty and love to make me a whole person. In my work life, independence and respect. I want these things because they make my work life better and much more pleasant to be there. These wants are conducive to a better working environment and help me to work more efficiently and harder. I do my best work when I am working independently. I do not thrive in an environment that someone is looking over my shoulder the entire day. That just makes me upset, nervous and angry. That comes into my next point – respect. If someone is looking over your shoulder all the time it is very disrespectful in...

...Human Behavior is critical to organizations. Benefits of self-evaluation/self- assessment as it relates to leaders today. Leadership is all about people. Effective leaders have strong ability to create a compelling vision and lead people to the achievements of goals. Irrespective of whether you are an experienced leader or new and feeling uneasy in a leadership role, one of the key knowledge one should possess is knowledge of self. Leaders are influential. This fact makes the understanding of how exactly the leader effects his followers a vital part for the leader’s and organization success. Knowing oneself is the first step to such understanding. Numerous studies on leadership attributes, be it personality traits, skills or knowledge provide us with a rich coverage of what makes a good leader. Leaders must be visionary, charismatic, curious, creative, competent, empathetic, courageous, have good communication skills and exhibit common sense (Lee Iacocca’s 9C’s), relentless in execution, intellectually and emotionally intelligent. There is hardly anyone that can get the highest scores in all the dimensions. That is where the self-awareness takes the prime part. Self-assessment and evaluation are the exercises that can increase leader’s self-awareness in different areas, from values and personal style to impact on others and own strengths and limitations. Let’s consider some of the areas for self-assessment and evaluation benefits for the leader. Authenticity There were...

...Self-Evaluation Journal I. “Speaking from a Bag”: Overall, I did an okay job. I was been able to overcome my fear of speaking in front lots of people. The audience paid good attention when I was doing the speech. If I have another chance to do the speech, I will do better on the part attention gather, speak more loudly and clearly. I would maintain the good eyes contact. II. Commemorative Speech: I did not do well on this speech because of the content of the speech. I most likely like an information speech than a commemorative speech. During the speech, I was using so many of “ah uhm”. I would more carefully prepare the speech with the right topic. I would keep the cute style of delivering the speech and good eyes contact. I had improved a little bit on the voice and the volume when I speak. III. Demonstration Speech: I did a best demonstration. The audience paid good attention when I was doing the speech. I have a little problem that I didn’t make eyes contact for a while when I was more concentrate on the cooking. I would pay more attention on the eyes contact next time I do my speech. I have prepared well for the speech. I was nervous because I have to talk while demonstrate the cooking. This speech is the most perfect one that I did over all. IV. Delivery Video Clip: It was a short speech but I did a pretty good job on preparing a good video clip. The right video clip of a little speech of the good speaker. V. This course has challenged my body to perform difficult exercises on a daily basis such as: Rolling like a Ball, The Hundreds, Push Ups, and Open Leg Rocker. This class exceeded my expectations, exercising regularly enhanced my liveliness, improved my mood, and helped tone up my figure. Through this course, I discovered that Pilates was a pleasurable effective method of exercising. When it was announced that this course would be Pilates rather than jazz, I was ecstatic because I have had previous experience in Pilates. My first goal was to enhance my flexibility and improve my posture. Although flexibility is a...

...ISPE Self Evaluation My first goal was to pass my Novice Moves in the Field Test with at least 0.3 points over the average. I recently tested the moves, and I didn't pass. One of the judges passed me, while the other two failed me with anywhere from 0.1 to 0.3 points under. My coach and I have discussed when I should retake the test, and we have agreed on sometime in the beginning of the next school year. Until then, we will go more in-depth for the moves, and break them down further so I can pass with confidence next time. My second goal was to be able to hold my spin for the needed number of rotations in my program. I am now able to do that very nicely and very consistently, and the tuck portion of the spin is now very stable. Now that the competition season is over, I want to continue working on spins, so my new goal is to be able to do a “haircutter” spin, and hold it for at least five rotations. To reach this goal, I need to stretch, as the position in the spin requires flexibility, and practice....

...In the section for the interpretation of my creative piece, the group that looked at my piece commented on power imbalance and appearance vs reality. These were both elements I intentionally conveyed though different creative elements including scale and colour. However, I am unsure where the idea that Macbeth is anxious came from. This was not something I intended to convey in my piece. Next, in “The Good” section size difference, colour, appearance vs reality, and the black colouration of Lady Macbeth’s eyes were all mentioned. I believe that these were all some of the stronger aspects of my creative piece. In the concerns section, there were a variety off different concerns expressed. In this sections there were ratings added that were...

...When I heard I was going to Utah I felt out of character. Most of my life I never thought I could exceed the “norm”. But when I was offered this chance to further enrich my knowledge on debate and debate topics, I completely jumped on board. Utah, I would have to say was one of the most stressing, tiring, and sleepless things I have ever been a part of. Even when I say all of this, It was extremely fun. But when I take the time and rewind all the effort and encouragement that we have put in and gotten, it really touches my heart. First and foremost, I would like to thank Mrs.Mcaleer my debate coach . Mrs.Mcaleer has been a second mother to me, she has kept me under her wing until it was my day to fly. She pushed me to do more even when I thought I couldn't. Mrs.Mcaleer has gave me a stepping stone that I will never forget. Second person I would like to thank is Ms.Keith, I must say Ms.Keith has brought lots and lots of fun on the trip. From debating in the car, to having very heartfelt conversation. I would like to thank her because she accompanied me on this great journey along with my fellow debaters. My fellow debaters have really tied the strings in for me. Now all my debaters very excellent but the ones I roomed with pretty much made my whole trip. I am going to start with my bestfriend of 9 years, Keara. She pushed me through the whole thing. Now even though she is extremely tough on me she means well. Now I would like to say thank you to her because she basically was my...
