...doctors. When a Medical Representative is appointed he was given a target of Rs.75,00,000 the year. He was enthusiastic and dynamic enough to push the sales. When he was on a round to find out the popular doctors in the area given to him, he found some 200 doctors there but was reluctant to prescribe the medicines brought by Mr. Kumar. This was because the Doctors advised him to meet the compounder whereby the compounder gave a big list refrigerator, laptop etc. The Drug Company had to forcibly send the Refrigerator to the door steps of the clinic for the Doctor as a gift. In another event, the Doctor was busy with whitewash of the house. When the rep entered he abruptly replied on the face, that don’t you see what I am doing. I am busy it’s not possible now. Then the Company got the Whitewash done the next day only. There are 20,000 pharmacy companies in India scrambling to get doctors to prescribe their drugs. In many cases, the doctors prescribe the costly medicines (anti-biotic), where, the patients are not able to afford and they take less quantity than prescribed and invite the problem frequently. The Drug Companies are really worried about the growing tendency like this in India. The benefits vary from doctor to doctor and also the nature of the benefits. ...ORIGINAL INVESTIGATION Benefits of Influenza Vaccination for Low-, Intermediate-, and High-Risk Senior Citizens Kristin L. Nichol, MD, MPH; J. Wuorenma, RN, BSN; T. von Sternberg, MD Background: Vaccination rates for healthy senior citizens are lower than those for senior citizens with underlying medical conditions such as chronic heart or lung disease. Uncertainty about the benefits of influenza vaccination for healthy senior citizens may contribute to lower rates of utilization in this group. Objective: To clarify the benefits of influenza vaccina- tion among low-risk senior citizens while concurrently assessing the benefits for intermediate- and high-risk senior citizens. Methods: All elderly members of a large health maintenance organization were included in each of 6 consecutive study cohorts. Subjects were grouped according to risk status: high risk (having heart or lung disease), intermediate risk (having diabetes, renal disease, stroke and/or dementia, or rheumatologic disease), and low risk. Outcomes were compared between vaccinated and unvaccinated subjects after controlling for baseline demographic and health characteristics. Results: There were more than 20 000 subjects in each pitalizations (P .001), a 32% decrease in hospitalizations for all respiratory conditions (P .001), and a 27% decrease in hospitalizations for congestive heart failure (P .001). Immunization was also associated with a 50% reduction in all-cause mortality (P .001). Within the risk...

...was created to ensure that the disabled and elderly are given the considerations they need to be members of a society where some individuals would, and will, not accommodate their needs and rights. The elderly are in need of just as much protection as the disabled because of the way Americans have treated them, as castaways of society. They are not deemed valuable and viable decision makers by many employers and therefore are relegated too less important part-time positions as they get older. America is in love with being young and many capable seniors are forced into early retirement only to have inexperienced and greedy young people replace them. Because of their wages decreasing and the dependency of many on Medicaid and SSI many are forced to live at or slightly above the poverty line. As a chef who provided income contingent meals to seniors for 4 years I can attest to many elderly not being in good financial status. Rising medical bills, prescriptions, food, gas, and housing make it difficult for many of the elderly to enjoy their “Golden Years” as they should, with no worries. “ A recent study published by MetLife Mature Market Institute estimates that the financial loss by victims of elder financial crimes and exploitation exceeds $2.9 billion dollars annually.” (http://www.ncsl.org/issues-research/banking/financial-crimes-against-the-elderly-2012-legis.aspx) Because of such a rampant issue for the elderly there are 26 states that have pending legislation to combat this...

...Identify and describe the categories of value creation on which Best Value currently relies most. Identify and describe the categories of value creation on which Best Value currently relies most Straight commission is a “pay for performance plan” where monetary compensation is strictly tied to the results achieved by the salesperson. It is best used when maximum time is provided for the salespeople to sell while non-selling tasks are minimized. Ordinarily, commissions are in direct correlation and proportionate to the value or volume of completed sales transactions made by the salesperson. Since financial compensation plans are offered as motivational incentives to inspire and energize the sales force to achieve greater results, it is assumed that the higher commissions earned from performance will also produce higher profits for the company (Hoffman, 2007). Because straight commissions are directly paralleled with performance outcome, it is believed that salespeople are motivated to attain a higher level of selling effort (Johnston & Marshall, 2009). The advantage of paying employees on a straight commission basis is that they provide maximum incentives for the salesperson. Straight commissions tend to reward high achievers while discouraging poor performance from salespeople with low productivity. For the company, higher commissions can be used to direct the sales team toward certain products that may produce a higher profit. In addition, it limits the amount of working...

...#Yes2RH: Selfies in support of the reproductive health law Using the hashtag #Yes2RH, upload selfies on your Facebook and Twitter accounts from March 28 until April 8 in support of the reproductive health law Rappler.com Published 5:26 PM, March 27, 2014 Updated 5:26 PM, March 27, 2014 [pic] MANILA, Philippines – A social media campaign is underway to raise awareness in support of the reproductive health (RH) law, whose implementation has been put on hold by the Supreme Court for a year a now. Republic Act 10354, which would provide information on and access to reproductive health services, is under status quo ante order “until further orders” by the Supreme Court (SC). The law – probably the most polarizing national issue today – was passed on December 18, 2012, after 13 years in Congress. Anti-RH advocates immediately questioned the constitutionality of the law before the SC. The high court is expected to decide on the case in April, with insiders predicting the law could be headed for defeat in the Supreme Court. House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr has said that declaring the RH law as unconstitutional would be "a veto against the will of majority of our people." As decision time nears, frustrated reproductive health supporters are taking the fight to the social media world. The #Yes2RH campaign was initiated by Likhaan Center for Women's Health, in cooperation with several other pro-RH organization. It will run from March 28 until April 8. Likhaan...

...Repeal is defined in many different ways. The basic definition of repeal is the removal or reversal of a law. It can also, in most opinions, be defined as a “new era in politics” (Holtz-Eakin). Everybody wants real health care at “lower prices that delivers quality care and controlling explosive federal spending and debt” (Holtz-Eakin). Democrats and Republicans, both agreed, that the “central tenet of health care reform was to control the growth of health care spending” (Holtz-Eakin). This is what repeal is known to be about. Majority Republicans, three Democrats, and majority small businesses all vote for this repeal but have many different reasons why. Republicans and those three Democrats want to deny coverage to children with pre existing conditions, while majority small business have trouble maintaining sufficient employee health care coverage. This is only a couple of reasons why Republicans, those three Democrats, and majority small business owners vote to repeal the 2010 Healthcare Reform Act. The Healthcare Reform or Patient’s Bill of Rights known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into law by President Barack Obama in 2010 of March. “The Tea Party is the only group of Americans who wants to see a complete repeal of health care reform”. Republicans feel that this health care reform will kill more jobs than create. 1.6 million Jobs are the actual number the Republicans announced. The Republicans are sponsoring a bill, calling it “Repealing...
