Session Planning

Session Planning The major I've chosen to study is Business Management and Accounting. I choose this major for different reasons. I want to be the type of person who has different backgrounds “under their belt”. Right out of college I want to work under someone else business using the skills I learn during these two years of business school. I can obtain better interpersonal skills, leadership skills, organizational skills, more intelligence, management ability, business experience also learn how to have a positive outlook of different situations when working under some else company. After graduation, I want to own my own restaurant. I'm uncertain about which type of restaurant I would like to run that will be determined after I complete culinary school.

...find each step of the training session to include the preparation. The purpose of this memo is to explain each step along the way. Preparation The initial planning of the meeting will take some extra preparation. The next couple of days will entail gathering information that is necessary on the training staff that will be needed for the two days of training. The Human Resources department will be responsible for providing the list. Along with the preparation we also need to look at the facilities that will be available for the company to use. The list should be reviewed within a timely manner to narrow down the possibilities and setting one location for the accommodations and training room. There are some venues that has helped the company out before so it would be best to reach out to them again and see if they possibly would have any openings. The IT department will be responsible for creating a list of all necessary hardware which will be needed for the training session, during this period. Training Staff Once the list of trainers that will be available for the training session is complete and obtained the best thing to do would be to categorize the trainers by experience. Anyone requiring recommendations should speak to the managers and trainers for assistance. Both trainers and managers have been notified and will be standing by in the event that anyone may need them. The trainers will be appointed to the individual session according to their experience. ...

Unit 24 Counselling

...occurs when a client or counsellor set aside time in order to explore difficulties or change in a safe and confidential place. Counselling can help the client to see things more positively and clearly, this can enable the client to specifically focus on feelings, experiences or behaviour, with a goal to have an appropriate positive response. It is advised that counsellors arrive 15 minutes to prior to counselling session to ensure the room is prepared and this time could also be used for the counsellor to get in the right frame of mind. Allowing clients to see preparatory behaviour can negatively interfere with how competent they perceive their counsellors. Prepared meaning the room is at a comfortable temperature not to hot or too cold. The room should be clean, showing no sign of previous clients such as clean coffee table. The seating should be 45 degree angle, as this is the best way to observe body language without creating a confrontational effect, also making sure that there are no obstructions e.g. table, removing furniture will make the counselling session seem less formal. The closeness of the counsellor will indicate attentiveness and willingness. It’s also essential that tissue and water is available. It has been reported that sunlight has a positive effects on stress and feelings of anxiety, so soft and...

Communication in the Work Place

...Experiences of misunderstanding at work scenario 1 Last year as we were preparing for our quarterly meeting, somewhere along the line in our group a misunderstanding occurred within the group. The operations market team who are responsible for putting the quarterly meeting consist of six staff. Five of the staff in the group has been with the company over six years. The last member on the team was a recent transfer from another department, though has also been with the company for about six years as well. Therefore, the majority of the team had taken part in previous market meetings except for the new member. We received an email directed to the team from the Partner in charge of the meeting with bullet points of what each person was expected to do prior to the meeting. The meeting was scheduled one month from the time of the initial email. We knew we had a deadline to meet and what was expected had been outlined in the email. We all proceeded to work on our respective parts, as each part was involved with the other therefore keeping constant communication was key to meeting the deadline. The team noticed that the new team member was not being responsive to emails and it was extremely important we know of her progress since all parts were integral of each other and without her input we were lost. Her non-responsiveness caused stress among the team because we did not know if her portion was completed, and this was imperative for the rest of us to complete our part....

...This entails the process of outlining the objectives and laying down the aims of the meeting prior to allocation of duties and responsibilities to be observed during the meeting. This step lays the foundation for the next step which is concerned with the desired outcomes of the proceeding, meeting or session. This second step is majorly concerned with the foreseeable results and expectations of all the stake holders of the meeting. The desired outcomes, much like the purpose, are written down and act as a guide or general framework for the meeting. The third step is concerned with allocation or assigning of roles of the facilitator, the overseer, the time keeper and the scribe. These are the primary players and regulators of the meeting who are charged with the duties of setting the agenda rolling. The facilitator is the key regulator of the meeting with the scribe taking down minutes and the time keeper allocating durations for all steps. The fourth step is setting the agenda, a comprehensive statement of the major objectives of the meeting which connect the purposes of the session to the foreseeable results. The last step is concerned with establishment and allocation of time for each item on the agenda. The mining group gold is a process that is effective for all types of proceedings or meetings. Harnishchfeger Cooperation

...University of Phoenix Material Scholarship, Practice, and Leadership in Motion: Part One Learning Team Project Students are grouped into teams of three to five according to established criteria. Then, teams engage in a project that integrates collaborative and reflective practice in the following steps: • Identify a problem or need that exists in your emerging doctoral community. The identified problem or need should be intrinsic and unique to your specific cohort. Your team must provide empirical evidence of the problem or need. • Design an intervention to address the problem or need. The intervention’s design should include a systematic means of qualitatively assessing the intervention’s effect and a means of implementing changes to the intervention to ensure its long-term effectiveness in the community. In other words, build into the design explicit opportunities for praxis-oriented feedback loops and adjustments throughout the implementation process. • As a team, critically reflect on the team dynamics and processes that emerged during your teamwork. For example, what kinds of power exist in the team, and where does power reside? How does the team privilege or silence voices? Whose voices are privileged or silenced? What kinds of authority does the team use, and where does that authority reside? What tensions exist between explicit and implicit dynamics and processes? • As a team, articulate ideas for responding to and addressing issues of previously...

Counseling

...Briefly outline and describe the essential elements of a solution-based, short-term pastoral counseling strategy such as its goal-orientation; brief (i.e., number of sessions) and time-limited (i.e., length of each session) nature; basic tenets and guiding assumptions (briefly explain each tenet and assumption), essential interpersonal skills, and possible behavioral positions (i.e., attending, blaming, willing). The goal-orientation for the short-term pastoral counseling should be to get the counselee to focus on their own goals that they have for themselves, and not so much what others or the counselor has for them. The class presentation, Overview of a Solution-Based, Short-Term Strategy, presents that you should limit the counseling to four sessions of either 50, 60, or 90 minutes. These limits fit well within the examples that Kollar gives throughout chapters 8 through 11. Phase 1 – Getting the Present Story The main purpose of this phase is to intently listen to the counselee and gain a solid understanding of where they are coming from. The goal is for the counselor is to actively listen to the counselee. “Active listening mirrors or paraphrases back to the speaker what he has just said, thus confirming for the speaker that he has been heard.” (Kollar, 2011, p. 92) The chief aim to this counseling session is to develop an overall solid picture of the present state of where the counselee is coming from. The counselor’s role in this phase is as a listener and confidant...
