Seth Lawson was just like many other kids growing up with his mother and not knowing who his father was. Seth had been raised by his mother all throughout his life and never had a father figure in his life because his dad had left him and his mother when he was born. Seth was very smart and played sports all through high school. Seth just could never do manly things because he was always around women. He soon had got a job because his mom was beginning to struggle to pay bills around the house. After working to help his mom he started to fail school and began to lose his scholarships for sports he played. What begins to happen to students like Seth during these situations?
People like Seth can start to have emotional problems that could lead to arguments with the parent. Some children may not even get to see their parents as much as others do because their parent may work a full-time job. The family could also play a unique role in the child’s life making the child come closer to some family members. The child will find their parent working hard and that would encourage them to work harder as their parent is doing. Growing with a single parent will help the child recognize their importance in their parent’s lives, which is a very healthy approach, and would help them prepare for the real world.
