Management and leadership while integrated had yet to separate entities within themselves that can shape or tell a lot about a person. With the ideas presented throughout these studies I have begun to see myself with a different perspective. With the broader ideas introduced to me I believe that my future endeavors will increase my ability in both management and leadership.
My leadership style is very directive or dictatorship. I see task and only task. People emotional states are not overwhelming a focus point for me. Although I care for people emotionally I am very stable. Therefore, empathizing with someone whose emotions influence abilities is a foreign concept for my life. Although my style or nature of leadership shows many of Taylor’s theory; I believe and can see my best in the human relation theory. Interactive leadership strengths will better suit overall production for the companies that allows me to have an authoritative role in the guidance and leadership of the company’s goals as well as overall profits.
“This needs to be done and we need to see it accomplished” is the mindset that I live by. So, that in turn comes out in communication with others. While never truly looking at in knowledge of theories I see now the relation between myself and the classical perspective or Taylor’s theory. There are many benefits that come with this particular leadership style that can be associated with strengths. Mainly, the responsibility aspect. Although it isn’t one strength that is talked about in the book a lot; it is definitely associated with my leadership style. For you exhibit this style of leadership you first have to have a mindset of commitment and obligation to your work. You must also work to accomplish your goals that are a direct benefit to your bosses or owner of the company. However with every strength there are weaknesses. The weakness with this

Summary of Seven Transformations of Leadership

...In the article of “Seven Transformations of Leadership”, the authors, David Rooke and William R. Torbert, point out what is leaders’ action logic and how they influence leaders’ success by breaking down seven types leadership, Opportunist, Diplomat, Expert, Achiever, Individualist, Strategist, and Alchemist. It is a realistic statistic based on a 25 years of extensive surveyed research and sampled managers and professionals, between 25yrs-55yrs, at American and European Companies. It says every leader type differs from other by how those leaders interpret their surroundings and react when their power or safety is challenged. Once leaders who want to make an effort to understand their own action logic, they then can improve their ability to lead, so first of all a leader must understands what kind of leader you are. Expert typed action logic takes 38% that says the most of leaders and managers in the research belong to this leadership. They try to exercise self control by perfecting their knowledge, both in the professional and personal lives and they are so completely sure they are right because they usually use personal data to support their ideas and use loud voice persuading others. While they tend to work individually due to their untrusted character to their subordinations they may become hard to communicate very well. The most important is they lack of enough emotional intelligence to deal with this threating leadership. With so many leaders and managers represent...

...Concept review for internal secondary data A real world example I can come up with is Netflix’s production of House of Cards. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Cards_%28U.S._TV_series%29 http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/25/business/media/for-house-of-cards-using-big-data-to-guarantee-its-popularity.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0 http://www.ukessays.com/essays/marketing/netflix-case-analysis-marketing-essay.php http://www.fastcodesign.com/1671893/the-secret-sauce-behind-netflixs-hit-house-of-cards-big-data [pic] According to lots of observation and information, this TV series was produced on the basis of big data. In this presentation, we can comprehend big data as internal secondary data. It’s risky to start the production of House of Cards, because its budget is high( 50 millions dollars), and it really focus on some sensitive issues. Right now, this series, directed by David Fincher, starring Kevin Spacey and based on a popular British series, is already the most streamed piece of content in the United States and 40 other countries, according to Netflix. But it’s a not surprise to anyone in Netflix, because they had predicted a big success for House of Cards after making good use of their secondary internal data. In our presentation, we can cover all the concepts in our parts by explaining how House of Cards is produced. The data Netflix wants to use is the data of Netflix’s subscribers. This data comes from Netflix itself, so it must be internal. Also, it’s gathered for...

Deadly Sins

...Questions for the movie Seven Morgan Freeman – detective William Somerset: It doesn’t hurt that the film features some magnificent acting. I think, Morgan Freeman has been casted for the movie, because he’s a phenomenal actor. He’s a very convincing actor, who gives his roles a perfect touch. He seems so real in action. Morgan Freeman is likely the best performer working today, and I don’t think he’s ever been better than here as veteran detective Somerset. Freeman is a very versatile actor and he embodies the range of emotions felt by Somerset vividly. The detective is a complex character and Freeman manages to display these impressions quietly and subtly but with beautiful precision. Freeman exhibits the unreliable tones of the role and makes the character come to life. In Seven he appears as the veteran. He knows what he’s doing, and supposed to do in the movie, to make it good. In the beginning he gets David Mills on the neck, which is trying hard to make a good job to impress William. I think, Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt compliment each other well, and they have many similarities and differences. For example the age, the play, the way they are interpreting their roles and so on. Brad Pitt – detective David Mills: I think, Brad Pitt has been casted for the movie, because he’s the perfect contrast to Morgan Freeman and also a very good actor. They are absolute opposites, young and older, black and white, spontaneous and thoughtful. Kevin Spacey – John Doe: I’ve read that...

...Diligence is steadfast application, assiduousness and industry; the virtue of hard work. It is one of the seven heavenly virtues. Diligent behaviour is indicative of a work ethic; a belief that work is good in itself. Diligence in students Bernard et al. Other factors which encourage diligence in students include motivation, discipline, concentration, responsibility and devotedness. Diligence in Buddhism The last words of the Buddha was "Strive on with diligence". Diligence is an integral part of all Buddhist teaching, and is considered the fourth of the pāramitā. In Mahayana tradition diligence is the third pāramitā and the first which is said to lead to liberation. The practice of diligence will bring an increase of qualities. Diligence in Christianity Diligence, in Christianity, is the effort to do one's part, while keeping faith and reliance in God. In other words, diligence and faith are two sides of a mystery. One doesn’t know how, despite one's effort, it all works out. But diligence when combined with faith assures spiritual success. Diligence as one of seven virtues describes thoroughness, completeness and persistence of an action, particularly in matters of faith. Diligence in Hinduism According to Brian Hatcher, the precepts of Hinduism require a human being to discover and live a dharmic life. To live a dharmic life, one must live with right intention with diligence, and with concern for well being of others. The Hindus celebrate Diwali, a festival...

Published : October 21, 2010 in India Knowledge@Wharton The 2010 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Delhi from October 5 to October 14 were orchestrated in typical Indian style. Until the eleventh hour, nothing was ready. There were fears that the event would have to be called off. Charges of corruption were rampant. The Scottish delegation found dogs in their beds in the Games Village; the South Africans found a snake. But, in the end, it was a superb show. Paper

...In the present paper, I am going to set the main features of temperance that Josef Pieper established in his book of The Four Cardinal Virtues, and I will provide a brief analysis of why chastity is necessary to bee happy. Also I will try to explain the relationship between intemperance and despair that Pieper describes. The thesis of Pieper is, that the order of temperance can only be implemented looking for you but in a detached manner. Accept the real relationships. The self-possession of the self is not feasible while still putting exclusive look on the human selfishly own. Because of this real relationship, the first of all resides in the ontological dependence upon the Creator. Therefore, power temperance advocates as inner realization. As the main component of the disorder is within man himself. Hence, main element of disorder is oneself: the self. Is oneself the one that judge and decide to incline to the evil. In the first place, I am going to give Pieper´s definition of the virtue of temperance. He defines the virtue as a “cardinal virtue that help the men to dispose various parts into one unified and ordered whole.” , therefore, in simple words, temperance is the order and harmony within the man. To start I am going to exposed in a better way what is temperance, so in that way it can be understood the relationship of this virtue with happiness and despair. Sto. Thomas, establishes,"...to be what is temperance (ordering on the inside) the first and most immediate...

Speech

...Good morning, everyone. Today, I feel so glad to stand here giving my speech in front of you. This year we are passing through is destined to be different. I guess all of you have heard about Maya’s prediction about 2012 doomsday. No one wishes this to be the truth, for we still leave a lot to accomplish. Eagerly and zealously, we and people around us are always pursuing things seemed shiny but sort of unrealistic. However, what if now you got the message that your life is going to terminate in just several months? What would you do to make your last minutes count? In this materialistic era, things frequently confuse the majority of us. Many of us are trapped by wealth, fame, power, beauty and so on, because nobody is unwilling to own a set of glamorous skin, being adored by others and enjoying the reverence from the common people. But during the process of pursuit, what matters in life is gradually discard by us. Alienated from close friends and true love, we have lost the most valuable part of life, even without realizing it. Purity, sincere, kindness, forgiveness…… these virtues fade away little by little, as time elapses. When we were kids, love looks as if unconditional. We loved our family, sharing experiences with them. We loved our friends, telling them the sorrow and the happiness. Why not put away your burden and just be an innocent child to cherish things and persons around you for some minutes? In my perspective, we should not just know how to survive, whereas how...

She looked exhausted and not a little bit frustrated as she removed her glasses and started to speak. “It’s Tuesday, the worst management day of my week” she said. “Today is the day I have to decide what to do with our remaining occupancy for a week Saturday to ensure we sail with a full complement of passengers. Stephen King Seven Samurai Themes

...It really struck me how good the story of the Seven Samurai is, and also how universal its appeal is to many cultures. The theme of putting yourself second and helping those that need to be helped transcends into many cultures. So much so that the remake of The Magnificent Seven was revamped towards a Western culture audience. Even Stephen King paid tribute to Akira Kurosawa in a prologue to his up coming book, Part V in the Dark Tower series. In Stephen King's book a small farming community is plagued by a group they call "wolves" that come and steal their children. Like in Seven Samurai one farmer convinces the rest to fight, and they hire a wondering group of Gunslingers to help them. Not only is the plot-line the same, but in Seven Samurai...

...Kayla Yim 12/5/13 Sink or Swim Kicks Kindness Contest By definition, the word ‘kindness’ is a behavior marked by ethical characteristics, a pleasant disposition, and concern for others. But like any word, its definition can be expanded into broader terms. As Mark Twain once said, “kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” Kindness should be an idea that comes from the heart, not the brain; it should be something that you truly feel will make someone’s life even the slightest bit better. Remember in elementary school, all the teachers tried to instill good virtues to live by? As time progressed, people tend to forget that acts of kindness should still be carried with you as you mature. Kindness isn’t some ‘elementary school act’ that should only be followed as a young student; it’s important to know what the valuable things in life are. No matter how small the act of kindness is, someone will appreciate it. My small act of kindness is really small, yet very important. It can do so many things, from brightening someone’s day to potentially saving someone’s life. It’s something that everyone does at least once a day, but not everyone knows the extent of what it can actually do for someone. A virtuous act of kindness could be something as small as a smile. Personally, I feel that a smile can give so much more than money can ever give. Wherever I am, I always try to have a smile on my face because it can...

This paper is intended to evaluate the impact of innovation, design, and creativity will have on the strategy of two businesses-the Shared Appreciation Mortgage Company and the Lotus Elise Company while considering their processes, products and services of both organizations. The Lotus Elise The development of the Lotus Seven was launched by Colin Chapman. Chapman had an idea of offering to the public a sports care with the qualities of a race car at an affordable price. The performance of the Lotus Seven would provide a unique driving experience that had light weight construction like a race car but not the use of a powerful and heavy engine. To achieve this goal, Chapman strategy was to “combine elements of knowledge, information, and creativity” to the Lotus Seven. (Stamm, 2008, Chapter Chapter 11, Collaborating-Innovation in Manufacturing). The processes of the Lotus Seven were simple, Chapman wanted the sports car to have two seats and an open top, and of course it had to be a fun car to drive.
