In the 1980s a movie ticket cost around three dollars and seventy-five cents, now a ticket costs twelve dollars to go see a movie. The movie E.T. was produced, and now the movie is known as a classic. The President of the United States was Ronald Reagan, five presidents later we are voting for a new president to lead the United States. The world has changed in many different ways since the eighties, also the people with it. For the interview, I chose my mom, Shelie Lucas. She was born in 1968, in Starkville, Mississippi. She attended Mississippi State University in 1986 to 1990. Today she is the mother of two children and lives in Jackson, Mississippi. From hard work and dedication she ended up where she is today. My mom told me that she felt that she became independent from her parents during her years at college. As an independent woman she had to face many trials and accomplishments, but that is what made her who she is today. During college, my mom had to start buying more for herself and relying less on her parents. This was a dramatic change for my mom, she felt her parents did her a huge injustice by not teaching her to spend her money wisely.
