Remembering life philosophies is hard for one to do, but when adding a pinch of humor, it makes it more appealing for the reader’s mindset. In Sherrilyn Kenyon’s writings, there many humorous statements that, upon closer inspection, hint at the truth. When Syn first meet Shahara, it was after a Daimon attack with the intent sucking the life out of mortals, literally. Sitting at the bar, Shahara sits beside him with a pitied look for the one with no friends, or Syn. Trying to make a friendly conversation with him, Syn immediately shuts her down by saying, “Money can't buy happiness, but it's better than being poor and miserable.
