...Unit 4 – P2 Terms of Reference I am writing a report to senior management to tell them all the information for Marks and Spencer such as Financial Highlights, share price, figures and Facts. Marks and Spencer are a company which have done outstanding and their figures have shown that their plan A has been successful. Procedure I completed research online to find financial statistics of Marks and Spencer, this information was found on the internet in the annual report of Marks and Spencer. I viewed the statistics to analyse the findings such as group revenue, profit before tax and final dividend. Findings This data shows that group revenue, group operating profit, profit before tax, earnings per share and final dividend. Group revenue shows that it has rose by 2.0% in 7 moths which is a great achievement and also it’s 9.9 billion, which is a lot for 7 months. Also this year financial highlights have been amazing the group revenue at the end of 53 weeks the percentage went up by 4.2%. Due to the really good results from group revenue the group profit before tax meant down by 15.7% which means they didn’t get much of profit in those few months. As you can see that the underlying earnings per share is 34.9p, it also has upgraded 0.3% which means that they have improved quite greatly. It makes sense to say that the final divined came up to 17.0p in 52 weeks which is a good achievement bearing in mind that they didn’t make much profit before tax and when down by 1.2%. ...

...Give an outline of how the James Bulger Case is presented in texts 1, 2 and 3. The first text, ”Every parents nightmare”, is a news article written by Mark McKay for BBC in October 2000. The article, in a chronologically and neutrally fashion, objectively describes the James Bulger Case from beginning to end. The text is dense in terms of factual information, as one would expect from a news article. The second text, “Life after James”, is an article written by Blake Morrison for The Guardian Online in Februrary 2003. The article approaches the presentation of the James Bulger Case in a different way. By peaking behind thick curtains of opinions held by the public, the text man-ages to provoke thoughts and stimulate ideas. Blake Morris succesfully shifts the paradigm of the James Bulger Case by taking a step backwards, which leads the audience to the introduc-tion of the bigger picture, where he explains and examines his view; the James Bulger Case is a problem, but it is not the problem. The issue lies in the society itself. The third and last text, “James Bulger killing; 20 years on”, is an article written by Amelia Hill for The Guardian Online in Februrary 2013. Arguably, the article is an addendum to the previ-ous text, “Life after James”. Amelia Hill takes the reader back twenty years, where she daringly questions the method of which the public, the media and the politicians used to deal with the case. Analyse how Blake Morrison presents the James Bulger case in...

...Evaluate the extent to which Marks and Spencer has benefited from its marketing planning Marks & Spencer’s are a company that have been that suffered a bad year in 2003/04 as they suffered a 10% fall in sales of their clothing. Their additional priority was to kick-start the autograph range in which they received good reviews but unfortunately they were too expensive being mostly over £100. With regards to their products, products of Marks and Spencer are designed according to the demands, needs and preferences of customers. To identify the demands, needs and preferences of customers, Marks and Spencer focuses on the core customers which they knew but then decided to take a risk and merge into a new market with Per Una and Per Una Due range. Company serves its core customers as well as its new customers by providing them distinguishing products. Per Una is a successful brand of the company which has satisfied the needs of customers. This brand has produced remarkable profits for the company. It was launched in 2001 but unfortunately the market of 2003/04 showed a drop in demand because of their prices. If more market research was carried out it could be seen that the customers will not be willing to pay £100 or more for an item of clothing. In regards to benefitting from marketing planning, they could have possibly gained if they were able to produce a product that could be sold which they did with the Men’s range in which its market share increased from 10.3% to 10.5%...
