Students work very hard in the afternoons. Spending many hours on homework. If we change the start time of school it will also change the end. Students won’t get out of school until 4p.m. If they have extracurricular activities such as volleyball, they will be up doing homework even later so they will still get the same amount of sleep as they would before. Changing the start time will only make it harder on parents. Parents will have to stay home until 8-9a.m. every morning just to drop their kids off at school and buses will have to drive around in the dark while they drop students off. When students ride the bus home. It can take up to one hours to drop them off. In the winter time depending on where you live, it could be dark outside by the time every student has gotten home and the busses are back at school. In the article Later High School Start Times a Challenge for Districts the author states “The biggest challenge for administrators? Transportation, school officials say. Many school districts use the same buses to transport elementary, middle and high school students. A change in start time at the high school level thus usually means a change in start time at elementary and middle schools, too.” This makes it hard on everybody. Even though start times are later it will affect everybody because parents have to stay at home longer, students will be getting dropped off later, and bus drivers won’t even make it back to their school until it is dark

...stay at school? What if you have to stay for tutorial or sport practice? Even though going to school later seems cool, the time of school is right where it is supposed to be. Later times in school results in tired students and unnecessarily late dismal times. School is scheduled strategically for the wellbeing of students and the staff, so changing the time will have several consequences. Early is on time, and on time is late. With school times being later, students will be more lax and less focused on the lesson. Therefore, school should not be held at a later time. This is necessary because students will be able to have more time after school to complete tasks and do their hobbies. In addition, students who come out of school earlier, are happier than those who have to arrive and stay at school longer. Furthermore, it is scientifically proven that early times have little to no effect on the academics of a student. Finally, while starting school later gives students more time to sleep, it ultimately can cause a large disruption in the schedule of parents and transportation. There are several...
