Silver Linings Playbook is an American romantic comedy-drama film written by David O. Russell in 2012. Bradley Cooper plays Patrick Solatano, Jr., a guy with bipolar disorder who is free from a psychiatric hospital and goes back to live with his parents, played by Jacki Weaver Robert De Niro. Strong-minded to get back with his separated wife, Pat meets up with widowed Tiffany Maxwell, known by Jennifer Lawrence, who insists to help him out with getting his wife back if he signs up for a dance competition with her. The two happen to become closer as they practice and Pat, his father, and Tiffany inspect their relationships with each other as they deal with their problems.
Pat Solitano used to be a high school history teacher who was married to an English teacher. He beat up, and nearly killed, a colleague teacher whom he found out in the shower with his wife. By court arrangement, he was limited for eight months to a psychiatric institution, with a judgment of bipolar disorder.
