There are a few similarities between Scandinavia and Bosnia’s correctional systems. Both of these countries have a similar prison living style and cell quarters. The prisoner’s live in an apartment style building, for lack of a more descriptive word. In both prisons the prisoners are able to obtain or purchase luxuries, using their wages earned through work programs. The prisoners can purchase everything from a television, to refrigerators, to personal clothing items.

Another similarity between the two country’s correctional systems is in how the prisoners are treated. A prisoner who is serving a sentence for a more violent offense, such as murder or assault and battery are still given the same amount of leniency when it comes to security
