...course changed and inspired a entire nation. King had many successes which include the Montgomery bus boycott in 1955, the Birmingham campaign in 1963 and the March on Washington in 1963. Although we cannot ignore the various pressure groups other than kings SCLC. CORE, SNCC and NAACP had a major contribution into improving millions of lives. We also cannot ignore the Federal government and the relationship King had with them. In short King was a key player in civil rights but other groups and organisations also contributed to the civil rights movement. Montgomery Bus boycott – 1955 In 1955 buses all over the south were still segregated, this meant that the front section of the bus was reserved for whites only this meant blacks had to sit at the back, furthermore if a bus was full blacks would have to stand. The boycott started after Rosa Parks refused to leave her seat, she was arrested and fined $14. Because many blacks couldn’t afford cars to travel many resorted to using buses. The boycotts had a major influence on the bus company’s because the majority of customers were in fact black. By boycotting the buses the companies lost 65% of their revenue. To sustain not using the buses the MIA using carpooling to get bus users around. King had no direct action to the boycott its self but did lead a march which lead to his arrest along with 150 other black protesters. This backfired and drew media attention towards the boycott. David does not want to talk to Mary who isdesperately trying to get him to talk to her (p. 2 line 3 “David had refused to sit in the front seatbeside her and would not talk to her”.) Mary does not remember when David´s illness first startedto show and therefore Mary finds it hard to understand how and why it has happened. She wondersif her and Seamus are to blame for the way David has turned out - (p.2 line 28-30 “(…) her mindbegan to slip back until she found that she was trying once again to pinpoint the day it had started, the day she first noticed that David has grown beyond their reach and become sullen andwithdrawn” … “were they to blame, she and Seamus (…)”. ...AN INCESSANT FAILURES COPYRIGHT 2012 WHERE IS THE REAL AUDREY? Neill Carlton has spent his life in the perpetual idea of getting dumped. But because of his one childish act, he was sent in a military school by his father and met enigmatic Audrey Griffith who stole his not-so-experienced heart and become a mystery. And after eight years of looking for her, Neill met the lovely Aimee Griffith who has the exact replica of Audrey and sure an enigma too. Urged down by their similar appearances, Neill was bound to discover the truth behind their mysteries… Introduction: Well, first of all, it's hard to narrate a story especially when a tragic music is stuck in your ears and the song tells about a girl wanting her guy back in her nonsense life when in fact I've never experienced having a girl, down-to-her-feet, longing for me to come back in her ingenious life. And then the next song saying that a guy asking for a lad's name and him confessing how the girl's beauty affected his innermost and now he's asking for a date and me not even a single thing experienced one of these and it’s kind of a routine. Anyway, this may sounds a little bit a bookworm of me but the truth is, I have read a hundred and twenty three books on how to win a girl's heart and with those incessant thoughts and words I have come to meet, none of it actually work. I don't know if I read the book cover quickly or didn't understand the selection really or getting dumped is just really...

...on class observations, I decided to sit in the seat where Edward sits to see if I could identify anything that could be a hindrance. Almost immediately, I noticed that to the right of Edward's seat was a big window that overlooked the playground. Thinking back, I can recall that anytime a class is outside for recess I have to call on Edward to focus. Lowering the blind on this window and closing them will eliminate this distraction for not only Edward but also for all the students. Another distraction I noticed by sitting in his seat was the class computer. The bright ocean screen-saver with all the different pictures and sounds was a definite distraction. This was the first time I thought of the computer as a distraction, so I immediately changed the screen-saver to something that was not bright, with no pictures of sounds. Lastly, Edward is in the pathway of the students and the trash can. Every time the students or myself throws something away, Edward only pays attention to them and their journey to the trash. I have decided to move the classroom trash can to the back of the class near my desk to eliminate this as well. Maximizing Access:Because of where Edward sits, I don't know if we are maximizing access with him in our classroom. Because Edward sits to the right of the classroom and to the right of where I lecture, I think he would be better served by sitting in the front row in the middle section facing the chalkboard. Students who sit in the front row and down the center...

Review them, and practice your answers many times. Tip No. 6: Do your homework and prepare great questions to ask. You will likely be given an opportunity to ask questions. Use it to show your enthusiasm, ask about this or that aspect of the job, or ask about how you would be able to use X in your background to do Y. Never use this as an opportunity to ask about their process, start dates, salary, benefits or anything else they can do for you. Tip No. 7: Control your environment. Always arrange to be in a quiet, well-lit room, free from distractions. Sit in a chair with relevant materials easily in front of you. Give your sole, focused attention to your interviewer, and whenever possible make sure you are on a landline rather than shaky cell connection. ...Roberto Muniz Professor Andrew Husband ENG 101.01 February 25, 2013 The Ranch It’s the end of the school year, and I know I have completed my part by passing all my classes. Now I’m sitting on the sofa watching television, but I can’t help but to feel anxious. I already know where I’m are going and who I will be going with, but I still need to hear the words conforming it. Fighting to stay awake I hear the door starting to open, excitement takes over me and I’m no longer sleepy or watching television. Then it happens, the words I have been waiting to hear all day coming rolling out of my father’s mouth: “we are going to the ranch.” Going to the ranch was and still is the most special place for me. After the trip announcement, it was packing time. The house was in complete joy, yet it was chaotic at the same time. I would run to my room as fast as I could and pull out my suitcase, but clothes were not on my mind. The ranch called for special items to be packed, like my slingshot, one of my prized possessions. It took me weeks to make it and find the right type of tree with the right tree branch. My uncle put it all together for me, he even added a leather hand grip. I couldn't play around with the slingshot in my neighborhood, so the ranch was perfect for target practice. Next was my pair of binoculars, they were perfect for the ride into the ranch, and once at the ranch those binoculars would always be around my neck. With all my special items packed, it was time to secure...

...When my mom and I arrive at school, I get out of the car and wave goodbye to her as I make my way towards class. It’s the first day of 4th grade and a sheer excitement radiates from when I think about all the new people I’ll get to meet. I can already see kids playing on the playground, but I see no one that I know that I can hang out with. I wait nervously by the classroom door and watch the others play with their friends. The bell finally rings, so I lift my back off the wall and enter the classroom. A good amount of people I know are already in the class; however, the people who I know aren’t ones I’m close with. I walk myself to a desk that’s in the back of the class to sit at but see that there’s a name on it that isn’t mine, so I wander...

...Drop it, drop the fag, it won't have any affect on the church lets leave. The next day we had lunch at dairy queen before walking up to the church, on our way a lady approached us telling us some kids were missing, we tried to help them but with all the excitement we couldn't tell where they were, suddenly everyone froze, quietly, someone was yelling, screaming, crying, we couldn't make out if it was one person or a couple, it looked like the church was on fire Quickly, Ponyboy and I ran up to the side of the church. Though many people were trying to stop us, we were determined to save those kids. “All I could think was: We started it. We started it. We started it!” Ponyboy threw a rock at the window to make an entrance for us. The smoke was overwhelming filling my eyes. It trickled into my lungs, choking me. It was hot, it made my eyes feel burnt, i couldn't see anything but, flames, flames and flames. My eyes watered and it made it difficult to see, but Ponyboy and I weren’t going to give up. Racing to help the children, we speed down the hall until we found a group of four or five, eight year olds huddled in a corner crying.“Help, help us, please save us!” one of the children screamed. “Shut up!” I yelled, “We’re going’ to help y’all!” Ponyboy grabbed the closest kid at gently dropped him out the window. Gently, Ponyboy and I tossed the rest kids out of the window, small kids, crying, screaming, blood droplets covered the window , jackets were burnt, they needed immediate...

...In 1991 students held sit in and occupied CUNY school in protest of tuition hikes that would result in 33% increase in tuition in one year. Students were quite responsive to the hikes because a year ago tuition was hiked $200 a year. Many people see the CUNY system as an attainable option for higher education to the less privileged. They come from all types of backgrounds and from mostly poor and middle class families. Students take advantage of the relatively low tuition of CUNY schools because they otherwise couldn’t attend universities otherwise. If I were a student during the times of protests during 1969 and 1991 I don’t think I would take an active role in the sit-ins but I would be sympathetic of the protestor’s causes. I believe that a lot of the protests had to do with the backgrounds of students and such would affect my stance on the situations. In1969 students protested the limited selection process of public CUNY schools. The student body of students was mainly white but minorities wanted to have the same opportunities of a free higher education that everyone else had. These protests came a few years after the Civil Rights movement successfully granted minorities immunity from any segregation. It is a person’s right to fight for their education especially in a new era of established civil rights. Being from a white background I wouldn’t protest against the limited selection process because it didn’t affect me. Although it is a human right to gain entrance to a public...
