Six Dimensions of Health Worksheet

Part 1

For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions.

Physical health: Weight Control- controlling my weight so that the older I get the less problems I will have physically getting around.

Social health: Respect for yourself and others- to have a healthy relationship with your partner or your friend you need to respect yourself and them.

Intellectual health: Ability to learn- use of one’s mind to create a greater understanding & appreciation of oneself & others.

Environmental health: Recycle-helps keep our environment safe and free of harmful things.

Emotional health: Control Stress-it’s not healthy to stay stressed out.

Spiritual health: Church- beliefs along with regular practices of worship.

Part 2

In approximately 125 to 200 words, describe health and wellness in your own words using the ideas and concepts for each of the six dimensions of health.

It is very important to stay active and watch your weight to maintain good physical health. Daily exercise can decrease any problems that might occur if you’re over weight. Socially you would need the respect yourself and others to maintain any relationship. If you don’t have respect you can’t seem to have a healthy relationship. The ability to learn will help your intellectual health so you can create a better understanding with what’s going on. For the environment some people would say go green to stop the polluting of the environment so we can maintain a healthy life or even something as simple as recycling.
