...se A Global Uniform Standard for Secure Service Provision over 4G Infrastructures. 4G Networks:Generation of Wireless network Since their birth in the early seventeenth and all along their di_erent generations, mobile communication networks have crossed important evolutionary phases aiming to de_ne increasingly sophisticated technologies allowing the provision of seamless global roaming, quality of service, and high data rates. Today, numerous technologies are co-existing to provide a unifying set of services. The coming era of 4th generation networks is foreseeing a potential smooth merging of all these heterogeneous technologies. A 4G network is characterized by the integration and the convergence of all communication networks, which are intrinsically characterized by their diversity, their heterogeneity, and their dynamicity, into one network. The main challenges raised by this network are the guarantee of seamless global roaming, the provision of cost effective high data rates, the definition of efficient user-centric customized service models, and the optimization of the quality of service provision. 1.1:Generation: 1.1.1:Wireless first generation overview (1G) 1G (or 1-G) refers to the first generation of wireless telephone technology...

This thesis contains no material which has been accepted for the award of any other degree or diploma in any university. Signed 25/03/2011 2 ABSTRACT The rising market penetration of the mobile phone and rapid increase in wireless technology represent significant opportunities for advertisers to reach consumers. Mobile phone advertising has emerged as one of the fastest growing advertising mediums in recent times, and this rise is being led by Short Message Service (SMS) advertising. Despite the growing number of worldwide companies adopting SMS advertising, very little is understood about consumer reactions to this medium. In particular, little academic research has been conducted on consumers’ acceptance of this medium and their behavioural responses to advertising messages. In addition, researchers have thus far been unable to identify the impact of culture on acceptance and response to SMS advertising. This research aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and advertising practice by testing five potential drivers of consumer acceptance of SMS advertising as...

...Outline: RESEARCH 1) NATURE AND SCOPE OF RESEARCH 1.1) Definition – purposive, systematic and scientific process of gathering, analyzing, classifying, organizing, presenting and interpreting data for the solution of a problem, for prediction, for invention, for the discovery of truth, or for the expansion or verification of existing knowledge, all for the preservation and improvement of the quality of human life. 1.1.1) History of Research Historical records reveal that there is no written document on the beginning of business research as an organized business activity, but this is definitely of modern origin. During the Middle Ages, the merchant families of Fugger and Rothschild prospered in part because their organizations enabled them to get information before their competitors did. These studies were unsystematic, but considered to be well organized during that time. In 1879, more by accident than foresight, N. W. Ayer and Son conducted a crude but formal market survey, to measure markets for agricultural machineries, manufactured by Nicholas-Shepard Company. This market survey is probably the first real attempt at business research in the United States. The Curits Publishing company is generally conceived to have formed the first formal business research department with the appointment of Charles Parlin as manager of the Commercial Research Division of the Advertising Department in 1911. His original idea was that advertising space could be sold more effectively...

...Loyalty Enhancing Communication for Telecom Customer Relationships | A Qualitative Study of Telecom Customers | Salman Ahmad Awan & Muzafar Said | Abstract The telecommunication business has been transformed in Sweden through the past few years. Previously telecom industry was under monopoly which has now been converted into more competitive market in which more competitors have entered and offering various alternatives of different kinds of services. TeliaSonera has been one of biggest telecommunication service providers in Sweden which is amalgamation between two big companies; Telia, a major Swedish company and Sonera which is Finish counterpart of Telia. Currently, TeliaSonera is offering various communication services to its customers such as Broadband, TV, Fix telephone connections and Mobile phone services. TeliaSonera is offering these services to both kinds of customers; i.e. business and residential customers. The purpose of this research project is to understand the telecom customers’ switching behavior in detail by distinguishing between two different kinds of customer experiences which are active customers and passive customers, based on their specific characteristics and to learn to design a communication that is effective not only for one kind of customers’ e.g. active customers but also for passive customers that have been found challenging regarding communication reception generally. By analyzing the outcomes, researchers would be able to...

...1.INTRODUCTION History of the telecommunication Industry in Bangladesh: In a highly populated country like Bangladesh, telecommunication can play a vital role to boost the economy and social level of people. The introduction of cellular phones has dramatically changed the lives of businesses and individuals. As there is a growing trend of workers turning from farming to other occupations, the need for mobiles is increasing among the thousands of impoverished villages. The overall efficiency of other business has increased as an aftermath of the government's decision of deregulating the telecommunications sector, which until the late 1980s had been a state monopoly. Privatization of the telecommunications sector began in 1989, when Sheba and BRTA were awarded 25-year licenses to install and operate fixed-wire lines and wireless services in rural areas. The same year, Pacific Telecom Bangladesh got the government's permission to launch the country's first cellular phone and paging service sold under brand name CityCell in collaboration with a Hong Kong-based company. The company targeted only the higher class of the society. During that time price of mobile was above Tk 50,000/=. Naturally, the growth of the industry was too slow. CityCell had a virtual monopoly until 1996, when the government gave licenses to three more companies to operate cell phones in Bangladesh. So, the government decided to bring more companies in the market and break the monopoly. After careful...

...RESEARCH REPORT ON Xenophobia and the Nigerian Community in Johannesburg By Albert Egbe CHAPTER ONE IDENTIFYING THE STUDY 1.1 INTRODUCTION: In its report on Tuesday 13th March 2012, the internet news service News24.com reported that Nigeria has lashed out at South Africa, accusing its authorities of targeting Nigerians and alleging “xenophobia”, after 125 Nigerians were refused entry into ORT International Airport in Johannesburg over vaccination cards. The report continued to say that the same day 28 South Africans were refused entry into Nigeria in an apparent retaliatory move. Nigeria’s Foreign Minister, Olugbenga Ashiru, was reported to have said that despite “cordial “ relations at the leadership level of the two continental power houses, immigration authorities and police in South Africa were “fueling the irritation between our two countries” (News24.com– retrieved on 13/03/2012). What exactly is xenophobia? According to Coulson, L,. Carr, C.T., Hutchinson, L, and Eagle, D (1984).editors of the Oxford Illustrated Dictionary , xenophobia may be defined as a morbid dislike or fear of foreigners, foreign customs etc. It comes from the Greek words “xenos,” meaning “stranger”, ” foreigner”, and “phobos”, meaning “fear”.
