In the story Rikki Tikki Tavi a mongoose saves a family from two terrible snakes, Nag and Nagina. The family took him in after they found him on the side of the road, so for repayment Rikki got rid of the snakes for them. Rikki was a honorable and respectable individual, but he acted in a disrespectful manner sometimes in the story. First of all, Rikki Tikki was very rude to Darzee and his wife for hardly even doing anything. Rikki said,” If I could get up to your nest, I’d roll all of your babies out.” He even called the birds stupid and foolish for singing about Nag’s death. All Darzee did was celebrate and was trying to have a little fun, but Rikki put him down. It’s not like he can help it, for birds sing naturally and it is in their nature. The birds were helping Rikki but he was very ill-mannered and impolite towards them.…show more content… Rikki Tikki did not respect his opponents, the snakes, when they fought or even when they didn’t fight. As a matter of fact Rikki taunted Nagina with her only egg left and Nagina begged for it, but Rikki didn’t give in and destroyed her final egg in front of her. Who would taunt a mother with her only child like that. Rikki also teased Nagina about the death of Nag, her husband. If they loved each other enough to be husband and wife, then it must be really hard for her to get over his death and it is hard enough without someone teasing you about it. In the story Rikki did not respect or value the snakes as he should
