One case of this would be the the Iranian Revolution which, Ruhollah Khomeini ruled. Khomeini was infamously known to be a dictator because of all of the treacherous acts that he committed. Before Khomeini was elected to rule Iran he promised the people that he would lower the cost of things like oil and other items citizens used their on the norm, but when he was elected, it turned out to be that he lied about all of his prior statements and made the society frantic because of all of the forceful acts he done to people.
