Having background checks on the people you are intending on hiring is a valid idea. Ever since social media was invented people have been posting and tweeting information about work and illegal activity. Although they think it is separate and personal and that no one will ever think that the picture or tweet they are posting could prevent them from getting a job. These days various companies are doing background checks on the potential hires. Having a background investigation can help people from being exposed to illegal activity, having to pay significant lawsuits, and invasion of privacy.

One background check makes a tremendous difference when it comes to potential hires doing illegal activity. For example, one time a teacher who did drugs and worked with little children. Another issue is if you find out that someone you are planning on hiring to be a police officer is racist and might accidentally hurt an innocent person because of their race. Doing this one check can make a huge difference in these types of situations.

In the world, people believe that social media is a safe place and no administrators will ever know what they post on their social media. Nowadays many companies require a background check. If managers decide to do a background check …show more content…
There is also a chance they do it by accident but ranting about a client at work. For example, A what if a worker talks about someone they were talking to and gives out their personal information. Such as their social security number or their credit card number. In an article, they talk about this one person whose name will not be involved put a client's private information on Twitter. This can cause identity theft which is a serious crime. This crime can cause someone to go to jail because of it.
