1. Briefly describe how you would tie together various online channels that you have studied so far (blogging, online video, viral media, Twitter/Facebook/Google+, etc) to extend your brand.

Do you think by strengthening one any one channel, the others are also strengthened?
Where would you start first?
What analytics would use use, in addition to the Online Assessment, to measure your progress and growth in social media?
If you had to pick a celebrity or celebrities that are, as of today, as close as a perfect 5 in most of the categories we study - as shown by the Analytics Selfie (above), who do you think that would be?
Any other thoughts on how you could further develop your online presence (as well as see and record the changes you are making as you use/develop your presence in social media)?
Anything else you want to add. The first step in tying together various online channels in an attempt to extend my brand would be to first establish a firm, consistent brand. Seemingly obvious, having a concrete brand is necessary In order to use online channels to the best of their ability. If your brand is malleable it may be harder to pin point what exactly you should focus on. Once a brand is established, I would try to identify my intended audience. Analytic platforms such as Alexa and Compete.com will assist me in pin pointing an audience which will help me figure out an effective way to target said intended audience. Once my brand and intended audience have been established, I would then use as many online channels as possible to drive traffic to my brand. To do this, I would start by creating and strengthening a blog. I think by focusing on creating a solid foundation, it will facilitate the consistency of my brand and allow me to have a strong reach. I will be sure that my blog includes components like the ability to receive my blog via RSS or a newsletter subscription. RSS feed allows you to automatically feed your blogs content to many different places, including other social networking sites. Following this, I would then move on to twitter and take advantage of genuine assistance. Genuine assistance would involve me searching for my blog topic and then sharing my post with people who are interested or asking for assistance. This will allow me to broaden my influence by targeting the right audience on a platform that permits such engagement. Twitter is especially good for generating engagement through hashtags and tweet engagement. Websites such as hastagify.me provides an analysis of hashtags and can reveal the context around hashtags to further enhance one’s understanding of their audience. If I had to pick a celebrity that is as close to a perfect 5 in most of the categories we study, it would be Justin Bieber. His influence on twitter, Instagram and YouTube is off the charts. He has 76.9 million followers on twitter making him the most followed person on the channel. In comparison, I would scare between a 0-1 in each of the categories. My Blog, twitter and Facebook scores based on my assessments were all in the 0-1 range. However, the material presented in this class has taught me a myriad of ways to increase my online presence. While I am not a celebrity, I still have the potential to successfully promote a brand through the many outlets provided by each social media channel. I should begin taking advantage of Twitter Analytics, as well as Google+ Authorship Tagging and Union Metricks to increase brand engagement, find influencers and record my developing presence on social media.
