From the desk of Linda W. Washington, CEO for Chipotle Mexican Grill, inc. I would like to start out by giving all employees a brief definition of a code of business conduct. A code of business conduct is sometimes called a code of ethics. Ethics refer to sets of beliefs about right and wrong; and business ethics involve the application of these issues in the workplace. It is a management tool for setting out an organization’s values, responsibilities and ethical obligations. The code of conduct provides employees with guidance for handling difficult ethical situations related to the business.
1.Describe key areas of the selected company's code of conduct that are of significant importance to the business, and explain why.
Chipotle’s Confidential Information is information which concerns or relates to the trade secrets, processes, operations, style of works, or apparatus, or to the production, sales, shipments, purchases, transfers, identification of customers, inventories, or amount or source of any income, profits, losses, or expenditures of any person, firm, partnership, corporation, or other organization, or other information of commercial value, the disclosure of this information intentionally or inadvertently could be harmful and damage the company.
Recording and Reporting Information Chipotle maintains a system of internal controls that we believe provides reasonable assurance that transactions are executed in accordance with management’s authorization and are properly recorded. The system is characterized by a control-oriented environment that includes written policies and procedures. All employees are expected to adhere strictly to these policies.

...Part A Overall, Company Q has a very negative attitude toward social responsibility. Part of social responsibility is having a positive interaction between a company and the community in which it operates. Company A did not have a positive interaction in the city because they closed several of their stores. A socially responsible company is aware of, and positively acts on the concerns of its consumers and the environment. The company does not seem very disturbed with the concerns and the requests of its customers. It took them years to respond to the customers’ requests for healthier options and organic products. When the store finally did bring in these much requested food items, they were very limited and were very expensive. In the case of Company Q being asked to donate day-old food to a local food bank, it denied their request. An organization should focus on having a positive image and reduce any negative impacts on stakeholders. A socially responsible company will maintain a good reputation with all of their stakeholders.
