SECURITY ESSENTIALS

IMPACT OF SECURITY BREACHES

• Security breaches affect organizations in a variety of ways. They often result in the following: • Loss of revenue • Damage to the reputation of the organization • Loss or compromise of data • Interruption of business processes • Damage to customer confidence • Damage to investor confidence • Legal Consequences -- In many states/countries, legal consequences are associated with the failure to secure the system—for example, Sarbanes Oxley, HIPAA, GLBA, California SB 1386. • Security breaches can have far-reaching effects. When there is a perceived or real security weakness, the organization must take immediate action to ensure that the weakness is removed and the damage is limited. • Many organizations now have customer-facing services—for example, websites. Customers may be the first people to notice the result of an attack. Therefore, it is essential that the customer-facing side of the business be as secure as possible.

Csi Miami vs Csi Real Life

...rather than a $60,000 Hummer, as seen on the show CSI. But when you’re a movie star you can drive whatever company is paying the advertising bills. In Hollywood’s depicture of real life organizations this type of flashy brand new equipment is expected. Forensic scientists are rarely actually involved in solving cases, as the show depicts. A team of scientists is usually called out once a month to a crime scene to investigate fingerprints, firearms, trace evidence, document blood splatter patterns, collect footprints and tire prints, footwear patterns, and other evidence. My uncle said, “Forensic scientists rarely go to most crime scenes, let alone are on the scene moments after a crime was committed.” Yet, no sooner after the intro music we end up seeing Lieutenant Horatio Caine on the crime scene as the body is being extracted and to top it off the father is on the scene with a typical group of people trying to see the body. Then we see the coroner Dr. Alexx Woods was only wearing gloves. She should have been...

...bartender is required to take more than 3 steps to get anything then odds are the design is poor. It is also a major OH&S risk to a bars staff if they are constantly forced to walk behind other staff to get ingredients. The first stage when designing a bar or laying out an existing bar is working out what needs to go together, by together I mean without taking more than 1 step. * Beer Taps & Beer Glass's * Cocktail Equipment, Cocktail Glass's, Cocktail garnishes, Ice well, Liquor, soft drink gun & Sink * Ice well, Sprits, Speed well, straws coasters, napkins, soft drink gun & sprite glasses * Wine & Wine Glass's * Bar top & cleaning cloths * It all seems pretty simple but actually achieving this can be tricky and requires lots of planning. A bartender actually needs access to: * Speed well (which holds most popular or house spirits & liqueurs) * Glass Ware * Cash Register * Ice Well * Sink * Beer taps * Soft Drink gun * Juices * Cocktail Equipment (Shakers, Spinal mixer, Hawthorn Strainer, Bar spoon, Sifter, Blender, Knife, Cutting Board, Muddling stick & anything else your bar may use.) * Cocktail & drink garnishes * Bottled Beers * Wines * Spirits &...

The Importance Of Procrastination

...rather than using softwares like these because at the end students will follow the path that will guarantee them a better grade .Nowadays, most universities became very reliable on those plagiarism detectors for one reason, academic integrity, but what they do not know is that they use them for the wrong purposes. Professors have become so dependent on these softwares to the extent where they do not even bother to go through the students’ work once it is said to be plagiarized. They just directly give them a low grade. But what if the student had weaknesses like grammatical or structural errors? How will they ever learn from their mistakes and try to improve to be the best they can be in order to feel like they do not need the internet’s help anymore? All these reasons show us that students have no bad intentions like cheating but rather only caring about having good grades and have their teacher’s approval. Even though these plagiarism detectors were able to get all of this recognition, they started causing some conflicts. It was very unfair to students at times. Turnitin started pointing out material as plagiarized when in fact it is really not. Even if these detectors mark material as plagiarized, this is not an indicator that it should be because when it identifies this specific material as stolen, it is usually pointing out a possible act or an attempt of plagiarism. Since professors were overly reliable on those soft wares, it was hard for students to prove their innocence...

Sales Management

...What is Sales? Sales is what you do and say during the one moment your product or service is being purchased. It's confirming the payment options. Sales is a one time process (means just selling the product to the customer). It's converting an inquiry or lead into a contract or shipment. Sales is not market research, business development or advertising. Pre-sales, Sales and Post-sales Pre-sales is a process or a set of activities normally carried out before a customer is acquired, though sometimes pre-sales also extends into the period the product or service is delivered to the customer. The task of a pre-sales person starts from the initial contact phase and often ends once the customer is acquired i.e. sale is made. The Pre-Sales Activities can be broken into two areas, planning and preparing for the call. Planning, in the Pre-Sales Activities, can include Prospect/Customer identification, Product/research/customer analysis review, competitor/industry research, creating a call strategy, evaluation of your products and services relative to the competition. To prepare is to put together or make by combining various elements or ingredients. Write an objective, determine the processes you will use to achieve those objectives, set quantifiable goals for each objective and practice for the call. Sales Activities are the execution of all your hard work planning and preparing.  These activities may include the sales call/meeting, negotiation or follow-up, closing the deal/order...
