...Solve a Problem Paper There are many situations that a person will experience throughout her professional careers. Often the ways in which people handle these issues will affect the ways in which they are viewed within the organization, which will either help or hinder them in the end. The creative process can often help employees to navigate through issues in a professional manner that presents new ways of dealing with issues. By allowing people to plan and practice, through brainstorm ideas, discussing the ideas, and questioning these ideas, improvising on those ideas, reviewing the ideas, refining the thoughts revolving around the ideas proposed, and sharing and reflecting on the various ideas proposed, people can successfully use the creative thinking process to resolve various problems (Murphy, 1956). For example, the creative process was instrumental in assisting workers resolve many issues that presented itself within the ad agency. While doing an internship for the state agency that regulates higher education, it has been witnessed many issues resolved through the use of the creative thinking process. Many of these issues presented themselves during meetings, whether it was during the preparation for these meetings, or whether it was while discussing various issues within the meeting. For example, various school leaders met to evaluate ways in which they could decrease the number of students who become college drop-outs. Students’ dropping out of college...

...Solve a Problem Paper Tamara Peeples PHL 458 March 18, 2013 Latrisha McAloon Solve a Problem Paper The stages of the creative process are search for challenges, express the problem or issue, investigate the problem or issue and produce ideas. The first stage – the essence of creativity is meeting challenges in an imaginative, original, and effective way (Ruggeri, 2009, p105). The second stage – the objective in this stage is to find the best expression of the problem or issue, the one that will yield the most helpful ideas (Ruggeri, 2009, p105). The third stage – the objective of this stage is to obtain the information necessary to deal effectively with the problem or issue (Ruggeri, 2009, p106). The fourth stage – the objective in this stage is to generate enough ideas to decide what action to take or what belief to embrace (Ruggeri, 2009, p106). With the fourth stage there can be two common obstacles, unconscious tendency to limit your ideas to common, familiar, habitual responses, to block out uncommon and unfamiliar ones, then the temptation to stop producing ideas too soon. As a child, many look forward to getting older so that they can: “…do what they want…”; “…go to bed when they want…”; “watch as much television as they want, etc. However, I am learning that age and independence do not necessarily go hand in hand. Even as an adult, there comes a time that our freedom becomes necessarily limited by the balance of other important principles; such as safety and...

...Complications of a Bad Neighbor-Solve a Problem Paper Rhonda Mayer PHL/458 September 2, 2012 Tracy Colcord At some point everyone encounters a problem or issue in their lifetime and the most difficult part of it could be finding a solution. According to the book “ The Art of Thinking” by Ryan Ruggiero, the greatest difficulty people have in thinking about problems and issues is evaluating the various solutions and choosing the best one. Growing up most of us desire to have a family and a nice comfortable home. Taking the first step to buying a house is a difficult decision and most couples goes through a lot of planning when preparing to make this commitment. Aside from financial support, searching for the right house takes a lot a lot of time. When the house is found that’s desired the next step is to investigate the neighborhood. Many times this step is omitted but it may be the most important step to making a final decision because the neighborhood as a whole is the place which people invest, raise their children and live for many years to come. Making sure to cover all needed steps to buying a home is most crucial for peace and happiness to be united inside and outside the home. When I bought my first home in Georgia in 1998, my husband and I were in a hurry to purchase a home for our family of three. I was in my early twenties and was very inexperienced in buying a new home. After several months of looking at multiple houses which were shown by my cousin...

...The creative process uses four steps to solve a problem. They are searching for challenges, identifying the problem, investigating it and finding solutions for the problem. My personal challenge has been with the wiring harness for the glow plug system and starting system on my GM diesel truck. I had to wonder why GM routed the wire harnesses in such a way as to be exposed to the most heat which will eventually destroy the wires and their protective covering. Since I am in the process of installing a rebuilt engine in the truck I decided to see if I could repair the wiring harnesses and if there was a possible better way to route them. So I could alleviate the electrical problems I have had with this truck specific to this area. I have had other problems with this truck that I have done upgrades on or improvements which turned out very well so I felt confident I could solve and improve on what GM did. The problem is this is on the right hand side of the engine where the exhaust driven turbo charger is located. The location of the wire harnesses is a couple inches away from the two exhaust pipes and the special oversize exhaust manifold which the turbo mounts too. The heat from all this seems to causes the glow plug wiring system to become inoperative and makes the truck hard to start. This will cause the glow plugs not to operate because the wires feeding them electricity to operate are heat damaged which builds up resistance and low voltage to the glow plugs. Glow plugs need...

...Solve a Problem Paper PHL458 Aug 19, 2013 Solve a Problem Paper A creative process is designed to help solve problems and come up with solutions. The creative processes are the systematic order to identify research, gather information, analyze and then come up with strategies to solve it. Being creative is not easy and humans go through two phases, producing the idea and then judging them.(Ruggiero, 2009) In this paper I will identify the four stages of the creative process and then solve produce a problem and solve it using all four stages of the creative process. Thinking creativity is thinking outside of the box, using your imagination and having originality. To keep the creative process simple there is stages to the creative process. The first stage is searching for challenges; usually challenges are not hard to find they come in the form of issues and problems that need to be solved. Everyone has problems and issue throughout their daily actives that need to be addressed. The Second stage is expressing the problem or issue, this is realizing the issues or problems exists and then start thinking of the multiple ways to solve the issues. The third stage is investigating the problem or issue; an individual will start gather information and data to help solve the problem or issue. Throughout these processes one might be gathering new information or uncover old information to help with investigating. The last stage is producing ideas, an individual needs to...

...The Scientific Method Ashley Burrell SCI/230 07/28/2013 Dawn Gleason The Scientific Method This paper seeks to explain what the scientific method is and exactly how it is used or can be used on an everyday basis. The scientific method is a method often used to help a person or a group logically or rationally draw a conclusions about an in particular subject or topic. The scientific method is not just used by scientists, but is also used by many others such as historians, criminal investigators, doctors, engineers, and anyone else who is trying to intelligently solve some sort of problem. One thing to understand about the scientific method is that it can’t be used to answer every question or solve every problem a person may be having, but it can be used as a way to solve many problems such as how to get a car started or how to stop the roof from leaking when it rains. The objective of this paper is to define what the scientific method is and to explain what steps are used to problem solving. According to the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language the scientific method is defined as “The principles and empirical processes of discovery and demonstration considered characteristic of or necessary for scientific investigation, generally involving the observation of phenomena, the formulation of a hypothesis concerning the phenomena, experimentation to demonstrate the truth or falseness of the hypothesis, and a conclusion that validates or modifies the hypothesis...

...Add your page header and page number per APA style. Solve a Problem Amanda Taubert October 8, 2012 Center title over first page of text. The creative process requires more than just a creative mind; it takes a creative mind using the right tools in the right manner. Yes! The first step is to search for creative ways to solve challenges. These challenges come from problems and issues, some of which do not invoke a strong emotion and require a great deal of insight to solve. Once you have searched through the problems and issues[,] it is time to find the best way to express the problem or issue. In doing this you are looking for the solution that yields the best results. In expressing the problem in different ways[,] it allows for the largest number of solutions. In expressing the problem in different ways and coming up with several solutions[,] you are left with choosing the correct solution and to do this you have to investigate the problem, the next step in the process. The investigation process allows you to explore the issue from many different angles and ask many questions to gain as much knowledge as possible about the situation. Through the investigation process you will come up with many ideas on how to solve the problem,[;] producing these ideas is the next step in the process. No matter how many ideas you come up with or how silly or ridiculous those ideas are, it is important to list all the ideas there...

...Problem Solving Paper Psych. 560 June 24, 2013 Prof. Pitt Problem Solving Paper Problem solving skills are a necessity in order to make effective decisions and manage a team. Without problem solving skills it is impossible for one to be credible and make reliable decisions each and every time. Problem-solving is a mental process that is used to discover, analyze, and solve problems. When problem solving, the ultimate goal is to conquer hurdles and come up with the best solution. Discovering and identifying the Problem can be complicated process. When individuals mistakenly identify the source of a problem incorrectly it will most often lead to inefficient or useless attempts to solve it. The aim of this paper is to identify the approaches to the study of problem-solving and inform the role of insight and creativity in the process of problem solving. The paper also seeks to examine issues with representation and solution. As well as examining the role of reasoning, judgment, and decision making in the process of problem-solving. Approaches to the Study of Problem-Solving The approaches to the study of problem solving include Behaviorism, Gestalt psychology and Cognitive Psychology. Behaviorism concentrates on what goes on in minds and solemnly focuses on general behavior. Discovered in the early twenties by John Watson but made popular by B.F Skinner, behaviorism concentrates on what goes on in minds and solemnly focuses on general behavior. They came up with a principle...

...The focus on this page is about the water scarcity problem due to drought in Tampa Bay region and how the Swiftmud and Tampa Bay Water could allocate the available resource to the public both economically as well as empathetically. Authors Robert L. Beekman and Brian T. Kench, have used Friedrich Hayek’s ideas to construct a rational economic order. Friedrich has stressed on few points in his book “The Use of Knowledge in Society”, on how to solve the economic problems and how to make the best possible decisions with the given information, which we will see in this paper. The economist Friedrich Hayek has explained in his papers on how to find an economic order with a few considerations and assumptions. According to him, there is a solution to all economic problems if we possess all the relevant information, if we can start from a given system of preference and if we had the complete knowledge of available means. From his view the mathematical equations, which is used to solve the problem gives the best emphatic solution but does not solve the economic problem of the society. This is because the economic calculus never gets the data from the macro level but from a single mind. And this in return will help us on how to allocate the given resources but not how to secure the best of the resources. One of the major points that Friedrich talks about in his paper is knowledge transfer and how the inefficiency in the transfer could hurt the economy in a long term. The “planning” is...
