Cabeza de Vaca was a Spanish conquistador who led a five ship 600 man-expedition to Florida. Cabeza de Vaca was not a high-quality leader, and only became leader because the aged leader failed miserably. The moment they left for the expedition it was a disaster. The moment the Spaniards entered the Caribbean it was just a disaster, after losing two ships in a hurricane and over 200 men by drowning and desertion. Cabeza de Vaca had a great deal of will power.
