Cuando no necesito ir al trabajo o atender mis clases, me gusta ir a mi lugar de ocio preferido. Mi lugar de ocio preferido es la ciudad de Ocean City que está en Nuevo Jersey. Este lugar tiene mucho para hacer durante mi tiempo libre. Mi familia y yo hemos ido a esa playa desde que yo era una niña pequeña. Primero, me gusta ir a la playa para tomar el sol y relajarme. La playa es muy maravillosa, limpia, y durante el verano el agua está caliente. Yo no soy la única persona que le gusta ir a esa playa. Durante los meses de junio, julio, y agosto hay mucha gente en la playa. Todos tienen mantas de playa, sombrillas, toallas, y sus gafas del sol. Es muy importante que yo tenga mi protector solar porque si yo no lo pongo, me quemaría por el sol. Despues de que me pongo el protector solar sobre mi piel, me acuesto sobre mi toalla. Cuando me estoy relajando, me gusta escuchar música o leer un libro. La playa no es la sola cosa para hacer en Ocean City, tambien hay un paseo que está hecho de madera. Sobre el paseo hay muchísimas cosas para hacer, por ejemplo hay lugares que tiene juegos de video para los niños y hay bares para entretener a los adultos. Las tiendas venden cosas como camisetas, pantalones, zapatos, y cosas para usar en la playa. Uno puede encontrar muchos tipos de comidas como palomitas de maíz, helado, pizza, y dulces. Mi lugar favorito en todo el mundo para comprar pizza se llama Mack y Mancos y está en el paseo. Me encanta las palomitas con caramelo que uno puede encontrar en la tienda de Johnson’s. Me relajo mucho pasar el tiempo sobre el paseo con mi familia y mis amigos. Nosotros hablamos, comemos, y andamos por muchas horas para ponernos al día de lo que pasa en nuestras vidas. Hay muchísimas cosas para hacer en Ocean City, Nueva Jersey. La playa es hermosa y pues es muy buena para relajarme y a la misma vez el paseo tiene mucho para hacer. Me gusta ir allá porque puedo descansar y a la misma vez divertirme.

...Conversation in Spanish In many continents in the world, such as Europe, Northern Africa, Central and South America, Spanish is primarily spoken. In these various regions of the world, Spanish has a unique style, and is expressed in a plethora of dialects. In many ways the culture is incorporated into the language and it exhaust a lot of emotion in its morphological and phonological structure. Furthermore to clearly outline the Spanish language I will be comparing it with the English language. I will also like to focus in the region of Central America, in the country of Mexico. To generalize how diverse and complex Spanish can be, in this essay I will discuss, the six commonly used Speech Acts and give some examples, Language and gender, and cross cultural significance. In various aspects Spanish is very similar to Spanish. When we refer to speech acts we primarily focus on the ones we use daily. “Among the various kinds of speech acts, six have received particular attention:” Representatives, Commissives, Directives, Declarations, Expressives, and Verdictives. Those verbs are venir, which means to come and ir, which means to go. To put those present progressive, you must put it into simple present tense verbs. For every verb that ends in a vowel, you must change it into “-yendo” instead of “-iendo” because of the present participle. An example of the present progressive is with cantar. Since this verb ends in with “-ar”, you must change the verb from cantar to cantando, but with the correct form of estar before it. The participles of stem-changing verbs like pedir, dormir, and servir change the “o” to “u” and the “e” to “i” then add the “-iendo” to the end. An example of this is that dormir changes to durmiendo and servir changes to sirviendo. Direct object and reflexive pronouns can go before the form of estar or can be attached to the end of the present participle. When it is attached, you must put an accent mark over the stressed vowel. For example, la estoy haciendo changes to estoy haciendola. Lastly, the present progressive cannot be used for what is going to happen; instead, the simple present tense is used. Much of Spain’s wealth was contributed by the Jewish population, which was very successful during this time period because of Christian church laws against usury, which is an illegal practice of charging unfair rates on loans. Prejudice against the Jews and strong feelings of anti-Semitism had also grown during this time, especially after a riot on Ash Wednesday (March 15,1391), started by a Spanish archdeacon named Martinez. Martinez called out to all Spanish citizens to “purge themselves of the filthy Jews”. Martinez incited his congregation to riot. The crowd moved enmasse towards the Juderia (Jewish quarter). Some of the participants were captured by the police and flogged or beaten, but that was not enough to stop the mob. Although they did not succeed that day to destroy the Jews, the feelings that Martinez had evoked lay simmering until June 6th when the mob sacked the Juderia of Seville.
