Differences Between Two Models of Health and Healing Larry Dossey, a medical theorist and physician, developed a theory of health and healing which incorporates three different eras in healthcare. In 1800s, Era I medicine considered consciousness a mechanical entity like the physical brain (Dossey, 1996).
