...Commander had taken the time to read the full email message not just the subject line and first paragraph he would have seen at the bottom of the message that he was copy furnished with the same memo that was sent to all Supply Sergeants for that unit. I think the main cause of misunderstanding was not paying attention to detail. The Commander was probably rushing through his email and knowing the significance of the memo just sent it without reading all the information. Assignment #2 Who is the sender: First Sergeant Who was the receiver: Squad leaders What was the message: To give him the names of all the soldiers that has not passed the Physical Fitness Training Test. What channel was used to send the message: Email What was the misunderstanding: Not all squad leaders have access to computers during their workweek. The First Sergeant should have sent the email to the Platoon Sergeant. He would have contacted the squad leaders to have the information...

...The purpose of this counseling is to go over Motivation, Competence, Leadership, Responsibility and Accountability and overall performance during our Platoon FTX, WarPaint Focus. During the FTX you maintained full accountability of all sensitive items on your track, squad, section and in the platoon. I couldn't ask for more on G2G reports and accountability. You are a very competent NCO and I have no question about your Tactical and Technical proficiency as a leader during mounted and dismounted operations. You know our SOP's and executed them to perfection when the situation occurred. Motivation and Leadership are two of the big subjects I want to talk about today. Motivation was high and low for you. When I asked you to get something done you were willing and able and accomplished the mission or task that was given to you. I’m very confident in your ability to lead and take charge but you need to start thinking on your own and not be told what to do every time. I feel you are one of the better Squad Leaders in the Platoon if not the best and will make an awesome Section Leader when your time arises. But for you to become that Section Leader you must start to think like one. You know what needs to get done, when it needs to get done and how it needs to get done. As an NCO our soldiers are first, If they are sitting around doing nothing they are learning the exact same thing, NOTHING. This goes during the FTX and back at Garrison. I can't always be around and during the...

The lead squad will be the base of the triangle, facing in the direction of travel. The tip of the triangle will be the 6 o’clock position. The left corner of the triangle will cover the 10 o’clock position, while the right covers the 2 o’clock position. The HQ element will be within the triangle finalizing plans. In order to make up the triangle, the Trail squad covers from the 6 o’clock position up to the 10 o’clock position where the lead squad is. The middle squad covers from the 6 o’clock position up to the 2 o’clock position. 3. The most desirable method for executing and area reconnaissance is ling range observation and reconnaissance. This method adds to stealth and limits the detection by enemy. Also, this method keeps the soldiers out of range for small arms fire helping them withdrawal and break contact. 4. ...Obtain a study guide. The purpose of a study guide is to make you aware of the type of questions that board members may ask and to put the material in a "user friendly" format for study. The questions in any study guide should not be considered to be the only questions a board will ask. Some units provide a basic study guide for their soldiers. Study guides can also be purchased at the PX. One excellent study resource is the U.S Army Board Study Guide (www.armystudyguide.com). This is a free and very comprehensive online study guide. Seek counsel; other soldiers in your unit who have previously been to "the board" can provide you with a wealth of valuable information. They will be able to tell you about the process, the types of questions asked and their views on what the board members are looking for. Additionally, they can participate in a mock board to help you prepare yourself (see mock boards). Knowing what to expect can help to ease your nerves and prevent you from being surprised by unexpected questions and situations. Know your unit's history, meaning of the unit crest and the unit's current mission. If being considered for promotion, know the MOS and skill level that you are being recommended for. Be familiar with the Soldier's Manual and be proficient in the duties required of that skill level. Be prepared to express yourself on current events (world and national and local level). Pay close attention to news programs and read the daily newspaper at least a week prior...

...purchased a 50inch TV for $387 before taxes, it was the last and only display model left; 5 months later I still feel I got a steal. They make it easy for the customer to finance products; as I did this summer with 12 months financing at no interest which will allow me to pay $25/month minimum and almost pay it off. These financing programs make things affordable for students and low income families. Another reason I like Best Buy is there customer incentive programs, with the card you receive points and they will email coupons for $5 off , $10 off, etc……As I continue with my own personal experiences I like the accessibility of Best Buy and the online friendly platform that so many customers use. Last Christmas while I was gone on military training I was able to purchase my fiancé a Kindle nook, services that are somewhat overlooked because everything is “online” now but they do a great job of using today’s technology tools. ...Question 1) STRENGTHS * Organisational Culture One prominent characteristic of the Geek Squad that can be identified from the video case is its clear organisational culture. From the old-school uniforms to the pin-up ties, the geek mobile to the identity inspector badges, the founder Robert Stephens fostered a corporate culture of fun. Armed with this ideology, Stephens managed to galvanise the job scope, making a typically monotonous task of repairing computer electronics more enjoyable for both his employees as well as the consumer. The glorified role of a Geek special agent allows employees to feel better about their jobs and themselves, obtaining a higher sense of accomplishment for playing a role in the overall company direction. This could also increase the loyalty of customers where they experience first-hand contact with a Geek Squad ‘Agents’, who were all ensured by the firm to be ‘well-liked’ and ‘socially interactive’. With a strong organisational culture, the Geek Squad would also be able to cultivate a sense unity among its employees who may come from various backgrounds and demographics. A shared culture would promote more communication and understanding as well as reduce conflict or any employee being left out. This would place the company in good stead in dealing with any future challenges. * Customer Service Focus The Geek Squad does not only place importance in the actual repair job, but the whole customer experience as well. According to him...

...Stephens to start the Geek Squad? The many changes in the environment that occurred were related to technology, computers, software, communications, entertainment, and social factors such as demographics and cultures, all things he came to realize during his consulting years. While Stephens was attending college and working towards earning a degree in computer science, he also worked as a consultant repairing televisions, computers, and several other items; however his main focus was computers. Through his consulting experience, he came to realize that most people needed help with technology, such as, how it works, its operating system, how to install software, and especially how to read and understand the manuals. 2) What changes in the purchasing patterns of (a) all consumers and (b) woman made the acquisition of Geek Squad particularly important for Best Buy? Changes in social factors such as demographics and culture helped make Geek Squad very popular. In the past, many manufacturers and retailers focused primarily on men. However, they found that woman were becoming increasingly more and more interested in the personal computing and home entertainment. Best Buy’s consumer research began indicating that woman will more than likely outspend men in the near future. Furthermore, Best Buy’s consumer research has proven that women tend to expect personal service during the purchasing and installation after the purchase, just what the Geek Squad is designed to provide. ...

...camera at a discount online. Televisions and appliances are the two products Best Buy sells that many people are less likely to purchase online because of their size and prohibitive shipping costs. If Best Buy wants to continue to be the number one seller of electronics and electronics related accessories such as games, DVD's, and electronic wiring, Best Buy needs to focus on shoring up television and appliance dominance to ensure sufficient foot traffic. Best Buy must also address the phenomenon of 'show rooming', which is the practice of shopping for merchandise in a brick-and-mortar store and later buying online at lower prices. In the past, Best Buy has provided only one week training sessions for new hires. However, as a first step to prevent show rooming, Best Buy will provide ongoing training to sales associates to provide customers with more knowledgeable salespeople. There is a second strategy, as well, which Best Buy is considering to help fight show rooming: lasers. The Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal reports that anti-show rooming lasers could be employed to confuse handheld scanners — most notably apps...
