...Auditing Research Paper City of Dixon Embezzlement 11/6/2012 ACC 235 Growing up in a small town, Rita Crundwell spent most of her life very close to the town of Dixon. She was from a well brought up, hard working family and was one of six children. Her family was very interested in horses and would participate in horse shows while the children were growing up. Rita was an honors student while in high school, landing in the top 20 out of 300 students who were in the National Honors Society (Smith, 2012). Although she graduated high school, Rita did not continue her education. The reason being that while in high school, she landed a part-time job at City Hall. Darlene Herzog, who was Dixon’s comptroller at the time, convinced Rita to stay with City Hall because she caught onto everything so quickly and was a great asset to the team. Through her hard work, Rita was able to advance herself, moving from secretary and then to treasurer. After 12 years of working with City Hall, in 1983, she replaced Darlene Herzog, who had to retire due to health problems. This placed Rita at the top of the financial department of City Hall, being named both the treasurer and the comptroller. It was the start of what would eventually lead her to be taken out of her office in handcuffs almost 30 years later. Dixon is a small town in the northern part of Illinois. In KY the chapter is known as KYANNA and I was able to interview Vivian Griffiths, MSN, APRN-C a member of our local chapter on Saturday June 18, 2016 at 5:30pm. We met at Panara Bread restaurant on Dutchmans Lane. Our interview lasted approximately 1 hour. According to Mrs. Griffiths KYANNA’s goals are to support the development and advancement of black nurses and to improve the health and wellbeing of the African American community and serve as an unifying body between the community agencies and healthcare. KYANNA holds monthly meeting but due to the due date of this paper I would not be able to attend the next one which is scheduled for August 18th 2016. There is no scheduled meeting in July and I just missed the June meeting. The meetings are held at the Norton Cancer Institute at 234 East Gray St, Suite 160 in Louisville from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Membership is open to currently practicing or retired registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical/vocational nurses (LPNs/LVNs), and nursing students who express commitment to the philosophy of KYANNA and NBNA. Membership fees for RN’s is $225 for the national fee and $50 for the local dues. You can also obtain a lifetime membership for $2000. Then using other data such as annual precipitation, passenger and aircraft traffic volumes and other factors, we attempted to correlate these factors with overall delays. These data could assist airport management in predicting periods of flight delay. Design/methodology/approach: Data were taken and analyzed from the data base “Research and Innovation Technology Administration” (RITA) for the years 2005-2011 for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The data included 2.8 million flights originating and departing from this airport. Data were also gathered from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) showing precipitation. Additional data were gathered from the FAA regarding delay causes, number and types of delays and changes to the infrastructure of ATL airport.
