The Supreme Court case the State v. Rusk, 424 A.2d. 720, (1981), is on that shows us a great example of how women placing themselves as in harms was making them easy prey criminal activity, instead of the victims that they are such as the victim in this case (Fisher, Cullen, and Turner, 2000). State v. Rusk shows us that the victim, Pat, was placed in harm’s way by Mr. Rusk from the moment that she agreed to give him a lift home from a local Baltimore sports bar (Brody and Acker, 2010). Once that the pair had reached their destination of his apartment Mr. Rusk took the keys to his car, and non-verbal body language to intimidate the victim into his apartment and even into performing sexual acts with him once inside the apartment (Brody and Acker, 2010). Mr. Rush was charged and convicted of second-degree rape with its requirements of showing that the offender committed the sexual act with force or the threat of force and without the consent of the victim of the criminal sexual activity (Brody and Acker, 2010).
