Part 1: Discuss, with your supervisor, your role in a crisis if one occurs at your agency or in the community during your field experience. What skills should you develop to ensure you are prepared to respond to a crisis? | At Mobile Mental Health Support Services there is a lot of information to gather about a client, there are no shortcuts when crisis occur in the agency or in the community. For example if a client comes into office for counseling session and is suicidal. The role of the Mobile Mental Health Support Services Counselor would be do a risk assessment, which requires directness, intentional questioning, and careful listening. The skills and conditions of the counselor is important to have empathy, reflection, restatements, and active listening skills. As the client is telling his or her story, the counselor should be listening effectively and looking for presence of risk factor and protective factors. Also remember information gathered should always be documented to have accurate record keeping of the session. |

Part 2: Reflect on your personal experience during the sixth week at your agency. What positive and negative experiences did you have? | The sixth week at my intern I was able to do research on different Mental Health agencies throughout Las Vegas, and the services they provide. It was very informational to be able to research other agency, and see the differences of services provided. Interning with MMHSS In the sixth week I also was impressed with looking over 90-day reviews of existing clients, non-existing clients, and how services are provided, but not being properly recorded into clients’ files, and the difficulties it can cause in the office, when things are not done correctly. Some of the negative experiences I have encounter during the sixth week, not knowing sometimes in the agency who to talk with in case of an disagreement you may have had with other staff, and not being able to visit other sites due to the agency having too many interns. MMHSS is a great agency to do intern, but needs improvement on organization, and the number of interns they choose to accept, should be put into consideration. So that every intern at the agency has the opportunity to do all the things they offer such as work at Tony’s house, Shade Tree, and the Blind center. |

...Statistical Analysis Paper Sheri Tuggle BSHS/435 Research and Statistics in Human Services April 21, 2014 Staci Lowe Statistical Analysis Paper Social workers are interested and concerned with the experiences of people he or she assists or work with, and this makes qualitative research so important. This research method provide social workers with a better understanding of issues and situations. Qualitative research inform social workers about the best way to help people who are in need of assistance. Qualitative research is useful for social workers to obtain knowledge in complex or sensitive situations for example workplace bullying. Many issues in the social working profession fall within the area of sexuality and mental health issues, qualitative research is one of the best ways for social workers to find the help for individuals with these types of problems (Rubin, 2014). This paper will discuss a article about issues of workplace bullying of social workers, and coping responses. The article was a cross-sectional, non-experimental case study of social worker's perceptions of bullies at the workplace and the social worker's ability to create coping responses to workplace bullying. Everflex V34 Medium-Firm

...A 12” x 12” x 2” sheet of EverFlex V34 Medium-Firm, EverFlex V44 Firm, DuraFlex D30 Medium-Firm, Latex Foam and Memory Foam were tested to see which was the best when it came to weight distribution. First, a sheet foam was placed on a blank table, followed by the Sensor Edge pressure sensor on top of it. The sensor was carefully placed so that the edges were not tucked under the foam, but were laid out. Then, a Barbie was placed in the center of the sensor, without letting any part of the doll fall over the edge. Three 2.5 lb. circular weights were put on top of the doll, where one weight had a slightly larger diameter than the other two. The weight with the largest diameter was put on top of the legs of the Barbie, where the front edge was lined up with her ankles and the back edge landed on her mid-thigh. The second weight was put on her upper body where the front edge reached her belly button and the back edge landed on her hairline. The last weight was put on top of the other two weights so if someone was looking into the center of its hole, they would be able to see her pelvic area. The three weights were positioned so that they were lined up with the center line of the Barbie’s body, so they would not tip over, touch the sensor, or cause an uneven force on the different sides of the doll’s body. If when placing the weights on top of the Barbie, one of the weights fell off and caused an impression in the foam, everything would be taken off the foam and after three minutes...

...An Efficient Connection between Statistical Software and Database Management System Sunghae Jun Department of Statistics, Cheongju University Chungbuk 360-764 Korea ABSTRACT In big data era, we need to manipulate and analyze the big data. For the first step of big data manipulation, we can consider traditional database management system. To discover novel knowledge from the big data environment, we should analyze the big data. Many statistical methods have been applied to big data analysis, and most works of statistical analysis are dependent on diverse statistical software such as SAS, SPSS, or R project. In addition, a considerable portion of big data is stored in diverse database systems. But, the data types of general statistical software are different from the database systems such as Oracle, or MySQL. So, many approaches to connect statistical software to database management system (DBMS) were introduced. In this paper, we study on an efficient connection between the statistical software and DBMS. To show our performance, we carry out a case study using real application. Keywords Statistical software, Database management system, Big data analysis, Database connection, MySQL, R project. 1. INTRODUCTION Every day, huge data are created from diverse fields, and stored in computer systems. These big data are extremely large and complex [1]. So, it is very difficult to manage and analyze them. But, big data analysis is important issue in many fields...

Statistical data indicates that the agency 's approach is characterized by its population by inference Presented from a representative sample of the population views. As scientists rarely observed throughout Crowd, sampling and statistical inference is essential. This paper discusses some of the general principles Visualization of planning experiments and data. Then, a strong focus on the appropriate choice Standard statistical models and statistical inference methods. First of all, the Standard Model described. These models, in order to apply interval estimation and hypothesis testing parameters Also described, including the next two sample cases, when the purpose of comparing two or more of the population For their means and variances. Secondly, non-parametric inference tests are also described in the case where the data Sample distribution is not compatible with standard parameter distribution. Thirdly, using multiple resampling methods Computer -generated random sample finally introduced the characteristics of the distribution and estimate Statistical inference. The method of multivariate data processing of the following sections involved. method Clinical trials also briefly review process. ...greatly improved the paper. Our thanks also to seminars at Clark, Iowa State, Harvard, Houston, Indiana, and Kansas State universities, at Williatns College, and at the universities of Virginia and Iowa. A colleague at Iowa, Calvin Siehert, was materially helpful. T cant for science or policy and yet be insignificant statistically, ignored by the less thoughtful researchers. In the 1930s Jerzy Neyman and Egon S. Pearson, and then more explicitly Abraham Wald, argued that actual investigations should depend on substantive not merely statistical significance. In 1933 Neyman and Pearson wrote of type I and type II errors: HE IDEA OF Statistical significance is old, as old as Cicero writing on forecasts (Cicero, De Divinatione, 1. xiii. 23). In 1773 Laplace used it to test whether comets came from outside the solar system (Elizabeth Scott 1953, p. 20). The first use of the very word "significance" in a statistical context seems to be John Venn's, in 1888, speaking of differences expressed in units of probable error; Is it more serious to convict an innocent man or to acquit a guilty? That will depend on the consequences of the error; is the punishment death or fine; what is the danger to the community of released criminals; what are the current ethical views on punishment? From the point of view of mathematical theory all that we can do is to show how the risk of errors may be controlled and minimised. The use of these statistical tools in any given...
