INTRODUCTION:-
This case is about a company which supplies pins in bulk to the customers. The company uses automatic lathe machine to produce pins, but due to various external parameters the pins manufactured by the lathe machine is normally distributed with a mean of 1.012 inches with a standard deviation of 0.018. But customer demands pins with the length of 1±0.02. Hence we have to analyze and calculate maximum profits by various methods where we can set our mean in such as to increase the acceptable range.
