In David Silva’s short story “Hombre De Aqui,” Silva demonstrates how important it is to complete a degree and being stereotyped in his hometown. For example, there are a few Mexican Americans that graduate college. Unfortunately, Gil is still experiencing stereotypical views from his hometown.
