1. Distinguish between the concepts of stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination. What were some examples of each in this video? “Stereotyping is the beliefs or associations an individual has about a whole group of people with certain traits on characteristics (Kassin, Fein, & Markus, 2014).” In the video Ms. Elliot divided the children into two groups by the color of their eyes. On the first day the blue eyed children were told they were above the brown eyed children. This created a stereotype that blue eyed children were believed or associated with the greater privilege in the classroom on the first day of the experiment (Peters & Cobb, 1985).
