Imagine that you were in a town where there was an alien. The alien keeps growing until you could not ignore the creator any more also the what ifs. One day when you are sure that there will be a attack. on that day a dust falls but you were expecting a big fighting seen and fire and things getting thrown everywhere. In the story Invasion From Outer Space Steven Millhauser shows that they were all prepared for a big invasion and all that happened what a small yellow dusting. This shows that what he wants to get across is that you need to be over prepared for the worst. In my paper I will provide you with evidence that proves that in the story, Millhauser was trying to get across the theme of over preparing is a good thing for, you never know what is going to happen.
One piece of information that supports be prepared for the worst is, “From the beginning we were prepared, we knew just what to do, for we have seen it all a hundred times?” When the author tells us that, “For we have seen it all a hundred times’’ this…show more content… During the time we could not see the sky. Then it was over.” In this quote it tells me that they had only got a small yellow dust that fell for only 13 minutes. When you read this quote you should see that they were over prepared for the worst and the best possible thing happened. When they said that, “During the time we could not see the sky. Then it was over.” This is telling me that they were prepared because they could not see the sky. If you can't see the sky and, you were expecting an alien attack, then you would think that the alien is coming down to the earth at that point to attack. In the past paragraph it was telling us that they were prepared for something more, but that was not what happen at all. In the past quote it was telling us that they were prepared for more worst that what happened, but the only thing that happened was a yellow rain that lasted for 13
