...problem 2 Context or background to the research problem 2 Literature survey 3 Research Methods 4 Research Justification 7 Conclusion 7 Bibliography 8 Statement of research problem The purpose of this study is to find out if the adoption of Extreme programming in a learning environment has improved student productivity. It is a software development process used by small teams who have rapidly changing requirements. With regard to students, all students that are studying software development modules are also faced with this problem where by the requirements are continuously changing as they get deeper within their project. This paper is to show if extreme programming is actually helping students become more productive regardless of the ever changing requirements. Context or background to the research problem In this day and age the most widely used form of agile development in software development is extreme programming which was proposed by Kent Beck in 1996. Many parameters contribute to the success of XP. Researchers concluded that using XP in an educational domain has many benefits, where they have seen that less skilled students were able to show more progress than they would have if a traditional methodology were used.(Assassa, Mathkour, & Al Dossari). XP offers a number of practices, values and principles which are advised to be adopted in order to run a software development project(Assassa et al., 2006). These values include communication, simplicity...

...proposal for my Writing 465 final project. The primary audience who will benefit my project is that all students, especially Chinese students in Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina because I suggest that we can offer Chinese food in Thomson. This idea that we can offer Chinese food in Thomson will allow Winthrop students to enjoy different food and learn different culture. If students believe that their evaluations remain confidential, then they are likely to respond more objectively and candidly. BACKGROUD To be honest, Winthrop University has successfully offered its students to enjoy a health food. In addition, the university also change meals offered in Thomson everyday to meet student’s demand. Although it is my opinion that such services are entirely excellent and practical, the current services in Thomson needs improvement, which means that we had better expand the kind of food offered in Thomson. The most troubling problems that Thomson has now is that although many international students have their meal plans to eat meals in Thomson, the food offered in Thomson is almost American food, such as fried chicken, hamburger and pizza. Many international students can accept American food in a short time, but they can’t accept American food totally. Several months later, they may desire eating food from their home country. A second problem that Thomson has is that the prices are too high for some students. As you can see, students eat different amount of food...

...section in Hong Kong. Construction management and economics, Vol.28, pp. 377-391. Article of the Lai and Lam analyzed the construction projects in Hong Kong through collecting data from 324 practitioners who in the past participated in such projects. A research model is developed upon nine performance criteria and their respective performances. The relative importance of nine performance criteria and their performances are measured. Timely completion of the project is the key in performance criterion, preceding by profit, environmental protection and quality, job satisfaction, and effectiveness. Lai and Lam research identified difference in the perceptions of performance in the following order: 1) difference among practitioners in a construction project; 2) different project types; and 3) difference among functional roles in the organizations. The order of importance of the performance criteria is: (1) time; (2) profit; 3) environment; 4) quality; 5) safety; 6) effectiveness; 7) no claims or contractual disputes; 8) job satisfaction; and 9) generation of innovative ideas. Timely completion of the project is the most important performance criterion, but it displays the highest deviation of the performance when compared with its importance. It implies that time management is the most critical factor for the performance in the construction project. Mainly, most respondents are not pleased with job satisfaction. The job satisfaction should be enhanced through personal development...

...education in the United States (UOP scenario, p. 1). There are three campuses, serving about 1000 students, increasing about 5% a year, but the board believes that number could be higher and has “adopted a new strategy that uses business development as the model to increase funding sources and revenue” (UOP, scenario, p. 1). They have outlined a three year program plan, with several new projects; however, they have developed some issues with formulating some aspects of the plan, because of the lack of strategic planning. The Foundation Schools wants to implement successfully the projects outlined in the business plan over the next two years. The implementation and process will need to satisfy the school’s mission and strategic plan for growth in both student population and revenue. The school’s faculty, board of directors and administration must be open to change and have the talent and resources to put these changes in motion. Successful program management creates both the structure and practices to: A. Guide the program and provide senior-level leadership, oversight, and control. B. Strategically, it encompasses the relationship between the oversight effort and the organization’s business direction. C. Foundation Schools will need to encompass the decision-making roles and responsibilities involved in executing the program effort through the project managers, who will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of company...
